Will You Marry Me, Again

Chapter 94

Chapter 94 Good News “Where is the talent show going to be?” Aiken asked curiously.

“It will be stonebrook, surrounded by valleys and a lush meadow, since the first episode’s theme is ecology. Your host script will be delivered to you then, and it's best to depart for Stonebrook this Sunday.”

“Okay, | can move my schedule around.”

“That’s perfect!” The executive shook Aiken’s hand. “We're counting on you then, Mr. Aiken.” “Sure, just leave it to me.” Aiken patted his chest heroically as if he were going to war. Glaring at him, Jordan downed his cup of tea to calm himself down.

“Ms. Maia, for the first episode, the production team hopes you could join as a guest judge. This will create some buzz and show our seriousness about the show. You can treat it as a getaway.”

Aiken quickly said, “Yeah, Maia, you can seize the opportunity to scout for Starlight talent. Who knows, you might be able to find someone like me?” He patted his chest and gave himself a thumbs-up.

Seeing this, Jordan kicked his lower leg to warn him.

Catching himself, Aiken coughed and shut up.

Maia said without hesitation, “Okay.”

She had no reason to say no, as it would suit Starlight Entertainment and the talent show.

“That’s marvelous! Two pieces of wonderful news in a day.” The executive beamed.

“| sense more good news coming,” Aiken said pensively, rubbing his chin.

The executive was puzzled. “More good news?”

Aiken, grinning mischievously, held Maia’s hand and got down on one knee. “Will you marry me, Maia?” The executive's knees nearly buckled when he saw this.

Looking at Aiken, Maia leaned in with a smile. “Do you seriously think it’s funny?”

Jordan cleared his throat warningly. Seeing their reaction, Aiken quickly leaped to his feet.

“Can | take a look at the script first?” Aiken asked the executive with a chuckle.

“Come with me then. The team would be thrilled to meet you.”

“Sure!” Aiken quickly waved at Jordan and Maia and fled.

“How could someone like him win the Best Actor Award?” Jordan said bluntly. He looked at Maia and said, “I better get going.” “Thanks for everything, Jordan,” Maia smiled.

Jordan nodded. “I should get more tea from your secretary to calm myself down.”

Maia watched Jordan leave and chuckled. Suddenly, her phone vibrated. Maia saw it was a call from Nigel. “Hey, Maia, my plane just landed. | heard about what happened last night. How are you? Did Theo hurt you?” “I'm fine, Nigel, but Theo got away. | guess the lawsuit would have to be put aside for now.”

“I'm sure he won't be able to hide from the police forever. Anyway, | heard many things had happened in the past two days. We should catch up. How about dinner tonight?”

“| can’t. | already have plans.” Maia was relieved that she had asked Tess to help pack her luggage tonight.

Nigel asked with a smile, “You'll be meeting your aunt, huh? She invited me too.*

“She invited you too?” Maia was surprised Tess could do so, as he had just landed.

“Yeah, | brought gifts to the winery, and she was there too. That was when she invited me.”

“| see.”

“So she has asked me to pick you up after work.”

Maia said, “It’s okay, Nigel. | can drive-”

“No, | promised your aunt | wouldn’t let you return alone. Besides, | want to buy some gifts. for her, and | can use some advice.”

“You don’t have to, Nigel. She won't mind.”

“Well, it's good manners.” Nigel added, “I’m on the way. See you later, okay?” He chuckled and hung up.

Maia checked the time and realized it was almost time to get off work. Putting down her phone, she looked out of the large window and saw it was raining outside.

It was the rainy season in Solisar, and the rain could even go on for a month. As the rain. poured, she was reminded of the time Yvette humiliated her at the winery.

She was amazed by how much things had changed over the course of a year.

Worried about Hope, Maia texted Buck. “How’s Hope doing?”

Not long afterward, she received a call from Buck’s number.Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.

She answered it, and Hope’s voice came through, “I’m fine, Mala. The doctor says | can be discharged in a few days.” “That’s good.”

“I'm so sorry, Maia. | read my mom’s letter. | never thought she’d pushed your mom off the building...”

Hope always spoke apologetically with Maia, even though the culprit was her mother, not her.
