Chapter 2060
Hertha was over the moon, and even in her joy, she couldn't resist teasing Thalassa.
It was one of those blissful moments that made everything seem brighter and more fun.
With a laugh, Thalassa said, "Why should I save money for Lysander? He can definitely afford dinner, but we've got movie plans tonight. Let's raincheck?"
"Tsk, tsk, tsk, aiming for some alone time, huh? Afraid we'll crash your romantic date?" Hertha teased her with a grin.
Her smile was unshakeable ever since she found out Thalassa and Lysander had made it official. It was as if Thalassa's happiness brought her even more joy than her own milestones.Exclusive © content by N(ô)ve/l/Drama.Org.
"You didn't exactly throw us a dinner party when you two eloped, did you? Kept it all hush-hush, only to spill the beans after enjoying your little love bubble for days," Thalassa shot back, poking fun at Hertha and Alaric's own secretive celebration.
Her words were an admission of wanting that same kind of intimate world with Lysander, away from any potential third wheels.
They hadn't even been to the movies together yet, a classic couple's activity that Thalassa didn't want spoiled by Hertha and Alaric's glaring presence.
"Ha, Thalassa, since when did you get so eager to foster a deeper bond with Lysander? What's up, worried that your connection isn't solid as a rock yet?" Hertha noticed Thalassa's unabashed longing to strengthen her relationship, teasing her further.
Her comment made Thalassa's heart skip a beat, gripping her phone a tad tighter.
For some reason, Hertha's words struck a nerve, poking at a tender spot deep within.
Was she really worried about the strength of her relationship with Lysander?
Suddenly, Thalassa lost any appetite for jesting, saying, "Keep cuddling in bed, I'm hanging up."
Without waiting for Hertha's response, Thalassa ended the call, let out a sigh, and tried to relax as she lay down, finding sleep elusive.
On the other end, Hertha, holding the now silent phone, blinked her large, curious eyes at Alaric, "Do you feel like Thalassa seemed a bit off?"
Alaric ruffled Hertha's hair into a wild
mess, "You're overthinking it.
Thalassa just got officially together with Lysander; she should be on cloud nine. Why would she be upset?"
Hertha pondered for a moment, realizing the truth in his words. Today was supposed to be one of Thalassa's happiest days, basking in her newfound happiness. How could she feel anything but joy?
Alaric had barely settled back when Hertha yanked him upright, "Get up, sleepyhead! No more lazing around!"
With a groan, Alaric mumbled, "Mr. Ethan gave me the day off, why shouldn't I enjoy a lazy morning?"
"Because, my dear, I'm starving! Let's whip up some breakfast," Hertha pushed him towards getting out of bed.
Having stayed at Alaric's place the night before, they had the luxury of sleeping in without any interruptions for breakfast. "Ugh, let's just order something," Alaric suggested lazily.
"And wait two hours? I'm so hungry I could eat my own stomach. Do you really think I can wait that long? Hertha was genuinely famished; the hunger only becoming real once she woke up.
Knowing Alaric's fridge was usually empty, Hertha had taken the initiative to stock it with fresh ingredients the night before.
