Whispers Turn to Whimpers: Could He Ever Change?

Chapter 712

Chapter 712

Francis handed her the glass, "Here, take a sip. You'll feel better."

"Oh, okay..."

Rebecca White, still in shock, nodded mechanically and took the glass, sipping it gently.

After a taste, she frowned slightly.

"It's quite strong."

"Yeah," Francis nodded. "It's a bit stronger than red wine..."

He was worried Rebecca might not be used to it. "Don't like it? You don't have to drink if you don't want to..."

"It's fine," Rebecca shook her head, still holding the glass, "I can handle it."

Mainly because, after a few sips, she felt her shaking had subsided somewhat.

Francis looked at her, relieved, "Then take a few more sips, but don't force yourself if you don't want to."

"Okay."

He figured, since Rebecca had grown up drinking red wine, a glass of whiskey shouldn't be an issue.

Just then, his phone rang-it was Sawyer calling.

"Sit tight for a sec, I need to take this call."

Francis stepped aside to answer the call.

"Yeah, got it..."

Sawyer had two things to discuss, Francis listened and made decisions on each.

"Let's go with that."

After hanging up, Francis returned to find Rebecca slumped on the couch, head drooping, as if she'd fallen asleep.

"Rebecca?"

Francis paused, then crouched in front of her, gently tapping her shoulder, "Fell asleep?"

Rebecca didn't respond.

Francis chuckled, "How about we go to bed? Shall I help you?"

Still no response.

"Should I carry you then?"

Francis raised an eyebrow, reaching out to lift Rebecca. But just as he was about to stand up, the person in his arms 'opened' her eyes. She couldn't see, but Francis felt a sudden rush of nervousness, his gaze flickering. "You weren't asleep?"

"Hehe..."

Suddenly, Rebecca smiled at him, her grin radiant. "Nope, when didd say I was sleeping? It's my birthday, can't sleep without blowing out candles and singing Happy Birthday, right?"

She seemed a bit off.

Her eyes were hazy, clearly intoxicated.

Francis smiled lightly, "Rebecca, you're drunk."

"You're drunk!"

Rebecca suddenly retorted, pouting unhappily, "I'm perfectly fine, how could I be drunk?"

Saying so, she wriggled out of Francis's grip, "Don't believe me? I'll walk in a straight line to show you!"

"Rebecca..."

Before Francis could stop her, Rebecca was already standing on the couch.

Huh? Francis was baffled. What happened to walking in a straight line? On the couch?

"Oops!"

The next moment, Rebecca jumped up on the couch, clapping her hands

"See! See? Am I walking

"..."

Francis was stunned.

SContentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!

So this was Rebecca drunk... quite unexpected.

All from just a glass of whiskey.

Was it because she mixed red wine and whiskey?

Francis shook his head helplessly, extending his hand towards

Rebecca, coaxing her gently, "onét

jumping, come down. Be careful not to fall."

"Tell me! Is it straight or not?"

Rebecca refused to stop, stubbornly seeking an answer.

"Straight, straight."

Francis couldn't help but laugh, nodding continuously. Whatever she said, goes.

"See, I told you I'm not drunk, hehe..."

"Rebecca..."

Francis's Adam's apple bobbed as he raised his hand, cradling her flushed cheeks from the alcohol.

His fingertips moved, gently pressing against her lips.
