Chapter 59: Bang, Bang!

Chapter 59: Bang, Bang!

CHAPTER FIFTY-SEVEN:

Bang, Bang!

--

The bearded man- who was lying on the floor begun to regain his consciousness not long after Tyler hit him with the fire extinguisher. He groaned while putting his hand on the swollen part of his.

His palm touched something wet, he tried to get up with the hslp of his kther arm and looked at if. His anger flared up when he saw his palm bloody.

It actually caused his head to bleed! His angry glare directed to the two escaping figures.

"Hey!" His other companion shouted at him. "Are you okay?"

"That bastard!" He shouted, failing to hear the other. He angrily pointed at the one woman and man. "Chase them! Bring them to me and I'll kill them myself!"

Their other companion heard it and fired the gun, but he missed them because Tyler suddenly pulled Althea into a corner. The other continued to follow after them.

He gritted his teeth and when he finally can't endure it, he stood up. "That stupid guy! He can't even shoot them down with that distance!"

He tried to follow them too despite the throbbing and stinging pain on his head. His other companion followed suit.

"Why do we need to cath them?" He asked while maintaining the speed to match up with him. "We can just let them go, it will be a waste of time."

"No!" He shouted at him. He flinced. "Those bastards got into my nerves. Also, that bitch knew about us faking the bomb, if they'll escape and tell the police about it- we are screwed!"

"What?" He bit his lip because of guilt when he remembered that he and the other one was talking about it out loud earlier. Did she heard them? If she did heard the two of them, then they're fucked up. He nervously looked at the other- who was at the same time has the higher position among the three of them. "How did she know?"

"Shut up!" He spatted in range. "That's not important right now! We should ge and catch them immediately. I'll give that son of a bitch a good slap and that slut a good beating."

The other man can't help but ask himself; Isn't his words a little bit... Uh... Wrong? Should he beat the man instead of the woman?

But nonetheless, he was glad that it seems like she discovered it through somewhere else.

--

The first gun fire made Althea flinch and it took her soul away for a second. The gun fire was so loud and Althea was afraid that she'll permanently loose her hearing because of the static sounds that was vibrating in her ears, but she already experience hearing gun fires much closer before so she relaxed right after.

Although not that relaxed like she can just breeze through these hallways while being chased by raining bullets, it was still enough to make herself escape with a rational mind.

She glanced at the man who as still pulling her with him. His board and wide back might be reassuring to others but not to her. Nonetheless, he pulled her just in time to dodged the bullet.

She pursed her lips before saying, with her voice panting and slightly quivering because of them running. "I thank you for that, but, could you please let go of my hand now?"

He didn't even bother looking at her as he keeps on turning into corners and corners just to lose the man that was pursuing them with a gun. "No."

Althea irritably raised a brow then fasten her pace to match him. He glanced at her briefly when they were basically running side by side. She raised her eyebrows again in triumph, but quickly erased the expression after realizing it was too childish of her. She seriously said, "I can run."

That was only then he released her hand, as they run, trying to escape, he said with a small smile on his face; "It seems like you haven't lost your touch even after many years."

That's right, Althea used to run fast before. She can even catch up to him if she tries. Tyler was greatly proud at the same time embarased that time since his girlfriend almost beat him in a race when he was an athlete.

He asked why she had the stamina, and that was when he learned that she was into planting as well not just the plants and flowers. She even tried pulling him and make him plant too but he always escapes in time.

She's disappointed but she never really forced him to do stuffs he doesn't like. One of the things he likes to her.

Tyler wants to sigh because it feels like that memory was from a very, very distant past. Or it was from a different lifetime.

Althea glared at him sideways, "I must be the one saying that," she panted. "You are already a company's CEO so I thought that you'll be like the others- fat and bloated because of sitting all day-"

"Stop right there or I'll shoot again!"

They ignored him and took a sharp turn to another corner. Althea continued, "But it seems like you haven't."

Tyler managed to chuckle. "We need stamina too, you know."

She hump, "Such a shame, I thought I'll see a fat, doubled chin version of you. But, really, I never hope to see you again."

"... Do you really hate me that much?" He recieved no reply. Something akin to sadness crossed his eyes but hearing the shouting of the guy that was after them made that expression looks like a fleeting illusion. He pulled Althea again into another turn towards their left because she attempted to turn right. "This way."

Althea had no other choice but to be pulled. But after that, she pulled her arm away and furrowed her brows. "Why do you keep on pulling me? Have you memorized this place or something?"

"No," he replied. "But I have someone guiding us towards safety." Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

"What? A guardian angel?" How ridiculous! Althea can't help but shoot him a difficult and concerned gaze but facepalmed when she saw the blinking earpiece he was earing on her ears.

Someone's guiding them, so whoever behind that call heard what they were talking about. Not that she has to care about such trivial matter though.

"Wait- who are you calling?" She suddenly asked. If it was a police, then she can tell them about them faking the bomb threat.

"... April."

"That suffice-" Althea said. "Tell her that they are only-"

Another shoot has fired. Tyler was ahead of Althea, guiding her towards the direction that April was telling them to go. He heard Althea groan from his back, he wanted to ignore it and think that it was nothing but he heard April's gasp and curse loudly.

["Stupid shit!"] She shouted next to his ears. ["Althea's been shoot!"]
