Torn Between Love and Hate

Chapter 249

Chapter 249

Chapter 249 Disagree to Their Marriage

Deborah was unsure of what Rebecca meant.

But on the other end, they didn’t say much and just hung up the phone.

Somehow, Deborah’s heart suddenly became a mess.

Suddenly, she remembered the day Mathias had kidnapped her, and how Cassandra had desperately

tried to stop him, ultimately saving her life.

At that time, Cassandra stood protectively in front of her, calling out affectionately,

“My aunt’s baby.”

Sometimes, human intuition and premonitions can become incredibly strong in just an

instant.

Deborah thought back to the recent phone call with Rebecca. Her voice was serious as she asked

Deborah to come to Moxley Manor, insisting that there was something important to discuss.

Moreover, everything that belonged to the Moxley family should have been returned to

her long ago.

Deborah sat by the window, her hand holding the sketching pen for the design draft,

unable to move any further.

She put down her pen and stood up.

Suddenly, she felt a sense of panic, unease, and fear of facing what was to come.

She probably just overthought it, but she still couldn’t shake the uneasiness in her

heart.

After much thought, she decided to give Joseph a call first.

Joseph was in the middle of a meeting at work when he received a phone call from her. He immediately

rushed back home.

He went upstairs to the study, and as Deborah watched him enter, she finally felt a sense of relief.

Deborah didn’t say what she was afraid of either.

But when Joseph heard her call him, heard the unease in her voice, and listened to the words Rebecca

had told her, urging her to go to Moxley Manor, he couldn’t help but feel

concerned.

Joseph had already figured out what Deborah was afraid of.

Or perhaps it’s not fear, per se.

But things happened so suddenly that she didn’t know how to face them for a moment.

She had always been a child with unknown biological parents, and in the blink of an eye, nearly thirty

years had passed like this.

There are some things that we no longer dare to hope for.

Joseph walked closer and looked at her face, filled with unease.

He reached out, took her hand, and reassured her, “Don’t panic. No matter what, let’s

go take a look first.”

If she’s overthinking it, then it’s not a big deal.

After nearly thirty years, Deborah has made it through, so there’s no need for

disappointment.

In the future, she would have Alyssa and Joseph by her side, and she would never be

lonely again.

If it weren’t for her overthinking, Moxley Manor would truly be her home.

There’s really no need to panic about this; it’s a good thing, a very good thing.

Deborah gradually calmed down and nodded, “Alright.” Content rights belong to NôvelDrama.Org.

Joseph led her out, got in the car, and took her to Moxley Manor.

They had walked down this road countless times before, and were quite familiar with it.

But this time, as Deborah looked at the road ahead, she felt a mix of emotions, as if her

future was a vast unknown.

The journey, which took less than half an hour, felt exceptionally long.

The car finally came to a stop in the front courtyard of Moxley Manor.

The season was approaching summer, yet the evening breeze outside still carried a hint

of coolness.

The car came to a stop, and Deborah first glanced out the window.

Suddenly, she froze.

In front of the car, the entire Moxley family was standing.

Donna, Nora, Sebastian, and the three Moxley brothers all stood in front of the car.

Not far behind them, Rebecca and Cassandra were standing.

Deborah looked out through the car’s front window and saw people standing outside, their gazes all

fixed on her.

Her fingers curled up in an instant, tightly gripping, as a layer of dense sweat seeped out from her

palm.

Donna didn’t know what she said, and then she started to cry.

Deborah suddenly wanted to escape, to leave this place.

After all these years, she didn’t dare to face this moment.

No one had told her the truth yet, but just by looking, she already understood

everything.

Her voice trembled, “Joseph, let’s… let’s go back.”

Joseph reached out and tightly grasped her hand.

“Don’t be afraid, let’s go down together.”

Deborah’s hands trembled as the members of the Moxley family stood in front of the car, anxiously

waiting for her to get out.

Adrian couldn’t contain his impatience and quickly walked over to the passenger side of

the car. He knocked on the window.

But he didn’t open the car door. Instead, he knocked on the window and stood outside the passenger

side, waiting for Deborah.

Deborah slowly let go of Joseph’s hand and nodded, “Mhm.”

She shouldn’t be afraid, for the worst outcome would merely be disappointment!

Just like in the past twenty or so years, countless times of disappointment have been experienced after

anticipation.

With Joseph by her side and Alyssa there as well, she could bear the disappointment.

Joseph pushed open the car door and got out, then walked around to the passenger side and pulled

open the door.

Nora and Sebastian supported an emotional Donna, one on each side, as they walked

together.

The couple tried to comfort the elderly person, telling them not to cry. However, they

couldn’t help but shed tears themselves.

Rebecca managed to get Cassandra to reveal Deborah’s birthmark, and on top of that, Deborah and

Nora looked strikingly similar.

However, these two points alone are not enough to fully prove anything.

Nora didn’t want any misunderstandings, so she took some of Deborah’s hair and went

for a paternity test.

Deborah and Alyssa often stay at Moxley Manor. Just go to their bedroom and you can

easily find some hair.

The results of the paternity test came out quickly, and as expected, there were no

surprises.

When Nora saw the paternity test report, her whole body was trembling.

Her precious daughter, after all these years, she didn’t even dare to think about it.

Heaven is merciful, for after taking away her loved one once, it has brought her precious daughter and

granddaughter back to her side early on.

Just thinking about Deborah and Alyssa, who had already arrived at the Moxley family, she couldn’t

help but feel immense regret and self-blame for not being able to firmly recognize them.

The Moxley family was moved to tears of joy, even Steven and Norman couldn’t help but have red,

watery eyes.

Adrian, who never held back his emotions, was both overjoyed and excited at the moment. He rushed

forward and hugged Deborah tightly, almost going crazy with

happiness.

“My sister, hahaha, my sister. I recognized her at first sight, and I told you I liked her. You see, a real

big brother is just like me.”

Steven’s eyes reddened, but he couldn’t help but laugh. “Adrian, let’s not bring up certain things. You

were once attracted to your own sister and even said you wanted to marry her. Neither Norman nor I

would ever have such a messed-up idea.”

Deborah couldn’t adapt and reached out to push Adrian away.

Adrian, like an octopus, stubbornly refused to let go, and continued to argue with Steven while raising

his voice.

“You’re talking nonsense. My feelings for her are simply those of a brother. If I hadn’t guessed that

Debby was my biological sister, I would have fought Joseph for her, no

matter what.”

He suddenly thought of something, released Deborah, and looked at Joseph with

caution and hostility.

“But now, Debby is the treasure of the Moxley family. I don’t agree with Joseph becoming my brother-

in-law. I want to find someone even better, the best for my

sister!”

Joseph licked his lips and moved closer, “Adrian, you really have a great sense of humor.

After all, we’ll be family soon.”

Adrian dodged him with disdain, pulling Deborah along as they were about to enter, who’s your brother!

Let’s go in first, Debby. You’re still young, there’s no

need to rush into marriage.

“Go away,

Let’s explore and look around more. Once we see better things and broaden our horizons, we’ll realize

that there are always higher skies and taller mountains beyond

what we know.”

Joseph couldn’t get any closer, so he took out his phone and started making a call. “Evelyn, hey. What,

you need to come to Richmond for something right now? Alright, I’m on my way.”
