Chapter 36
Chapter 36
*Kat’s POV
“Okay so lets start from here. This is the living room.” He says entering the room opposite to the
kitchen. We ate our breakfast in comfortable silence with him staring at me the whole time we were
eating, though I did catch him he just smiled sheepishly and continued to stare while I ate.
After I ate, he literally snatched the plate from me so that I won’t do the dishwash, which I would have
though there is maids to do that. If he hadn’t pulled me from there to give me a tour of his house, I
would have stood there to at least wash my plates. I always liked to do the things by my own and not
depend on anyone.
He was super excited like a kid excited to show his new toy. Ryder was very excited to show me his
house. Which I forgot to say is like a mansion. From the entrance of the house to left is the huge
kitchen session, so it also has dinning room included in that region. To the right the region where we
are in right now is the living room. It is FREAKING HUGE. Literally this living room can hold my whole
apartment which I should say is also pretty big with 2 bedrooms and a large hall with spacious kitchen.
So, when I compare my apartment to this hall it means a lot.
The living room can even be used to hold a party. 4 sofas are arranged in U-shape in front of the
furnace. This seems like a room were people gets cosy and have talk because there’s no TV, my guess
is there’s a separate room for that. Opposite to the entrance is the large aquarium. I squeal and run to
the aquarium. I love fishes. I stand there at awe with my hands on the glass. I didn’t realise Ry was
behind me. He wrapped one of his arms around my waist and the other on top of my hand on the glass.
“I build this for you. I know about your fascination for fishes. When I had the architect drew the living
room, I had specifically told him among other things, for an aquarium instead of one of the walls. I also
hired a servant just for maintaining this.” He said.
I turned around to face him and pecked his lips expressing my love for him, without even saying
anything. He nodded, showing he understood. I walked around him to see the rest of the room. To the

the house.
“Come on I will show you the rest of the house.” He took my hands and pulled me to the door beside
the aquarium, which had stairs to go to the first floor. Turning left there was a passage which had 4
doors, 2 on each side. Going through the passage, I opened the first to see an office room, that has a
table in centre and bookshelf on one side and a cabinet to the other. There is also a sofa to the side.
“This is my office. The room adjacent to this is yours, that is, if you are planning to stay.” He said with
hope lacing in his words. “The 2 rooms opposite to this are empty. I left it for you to decide. It can be
anything related to office/study room, as this part of the house is intended for work related or anything
to papers and books. I think you can use these as an art room. I remember that you used to paint
beautifully” He said to which I nodded and he closed the door behind me and I turned around to the
passage. I used to paint its been long. Though I haven’t painted any during the last semester as there
were lot of works otherwise.
“Come on I have something to show you.” He said walking to left and that is when I noticed double
doors to left of the staircase we got up. He opened it and when I got inside, I was shocked. I had my
jaw on the floor. It was a huge library. I love to read. If anyone is searching for me then I will be here if
they didn’t find me in the living room near to the aquarium.
“Wow Ry. I love it.” I said.
“I know. Again, this is one of the rooms I had build for you and me. We both love books. This library has
all the genre: Romance, supernatural, Fiction, Biography. Even cookbooks.” He said walking over to
the shelf stacked with lots of books. Each row is labelled so that finding a book can be easy. What
caught my attention was the books on the first row. It is labelled as “Kids Books”. I turned around swiftly
to see Ry looking at me intently trying to figure out my expression.
We have had the talk about kids when I was 20 and he was 23 and both our response were positive,
that might be the reason he has had this rack. But that was like 5 years ago and a lot has taken place
since then from our breakup, deaths, changed characters and now here. Did I want kids with him? Hell
yes. Did he? I don’t know. I mean maybe he might have this rack thinking this is what I want but what
does he want?
“Ry my decision had never changed. If I am having kids, they will be from you. But is this really what
you want?” I asked walking to him and held his face in both my palms.
He closed his eyes and leaned into my touch. A tear fell from his eyes which broke my heart. I wiped
the tear off his face. He opened his eyes and looked at me. I was shocked to see the vulnerability in
those ocean blue eyes which usually held confidence.
“I am so sorry Kat for what I did. I mean if we hadn’t gone through all that you wouldn’t have even ask
me that. Back then I always used to say about making you my wife and having our kids run around.
That has never changed.” He said the last sentence in a low voice pressing his forehead against mine.
We stood like that for few minutes before he regained his composure and was back to being that
excited kid. We again continue our tour with him pulling my hand and walked out of the passage to a
room that looked like a theatre. And my guess was right it in fact was a small theatre like setting with a
huge TV on the wall adjacent to the wall of the door we just came out. The sofa in the TV room is the
convertible type that can be a bed as well. Since TV room was pretty close to the office area, the TV
room is soundproof just like his office room and the master bedroom. He said the other rooms were not
soundproofed so that he can know if something happens to others.
When you walk out of the TV room to the left is the double staircase and if walked straight is the
bedrooms. In the kitchen region is another door which leads to the outhouse for the maids.
After the visit to the TV room he pulled me down the staircase and walked through the passage
between the two stairs to the glass door which was opposite to the main door. It led to the backyard
which had a large pool attached to the hot tub and to the side was a large green land which was setup
for the barbeque parties he had with his close friends from work.
It was a surprise for me to hear he had friends. I mean, the aura he carried around him showed he was
not to be approached. So, it was surprising to hear he did have friends. I am glad he had someone to
support him when he went through that dark phase. even though it saddened me that I was not there.
But I won’t let it affect me because like I had already said we did everything to get him to contact us so
it was his choice to whether have us in his life or to ignore us.
“Want to go for a dip?”
