The Kiss that Sparked it All

Chapter 2872

“No one will find you pathetic if you don’t, Dahlia. You’re selling yourself short and you’re not even keeping your cool. Do you really think you can just run out there and see Nolan? Do think he’ll even want to see you? And what would you say to him if he did? You need to get a grip and think this through before you go chasing after him!

What do you think has kept his heart in your hands all these years, huh? It’s your kindness and thoughtfulness, isn’t it? You’ve got all those memories together, and if you lose that too, then let me tell you, you’re really out of the game.”

Dahlia was stopped in her tracks. Her hand was trembling as she clutched her keys, and finally, the tears she’d been holding back streamed down her cheeks, “Sienna, have I just been spinning my wheels here? I left behind my career overseas, a world I’d made my own, to come back for him, and now he’s gone and married someone else. I don’t even know who she is. How could I be so useless? Did he ever truly care about me, or was it all just in my head?”

Sienna quickly pulled her down onto the couch “You can’t think like that. We’ve all seen how Nolan treated you; he really did cherish you. I mean, come on, he hasn’t missed a single one of your solo performances, not one, even with all the jet-setting. Even your biggest fan couldn’t claim that! Just think if something had happened since you were back. And does he really have no other woman for this long?” Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

Dahlia bit her lip, “I can swear there was no big scene, but there was that one time I used him to get into the headlines… I’m afraid he might’ve caught on to that. He had his legal team handle it without talking to me. I know him well and he must be furious. As for other women, no, there really hasn’t been anyone.”

But then, Dahlia stopped short, and Sienna pressed, “Is there someone? You remember something, don’t you?”

Dahlia’s face changed, “It’s that witch! Nolan has never complimented any other woman in front of me besides her.”

“Don’t panic. Now that we have a target, we can figure out what to do next.” Sienna pressed, “Who is she? What’s her background?”

“It’s the same woman who mistakenly took the seat I saved for Nolan that one time. Turns out she’s the heiress to the Tanner family. It’s laughable, really. At first, I thought she was just naive, but then it hit me: from that first encounter to inviting Nolan to her gala, it was all her scheming.

We can’t underestimate the cunning woman. Nolan thinks she’s so innocent and forthright, someone really special. Men always fall for that kind of woman.”

Sienna seemed to ponder for a moment, “Have you thought about what you’ll do if it’s really her?”

After a long pause, Dahlia suddenly heaved a sigh. She was covering her face and crying in sorrow.

“I can’t tell you how many times I’ve dreamed of standing next to him in a wedding dress, and now someone else has beaten me to the punch. All my efforts during these years are now wiped out.”

But Sienna wasn’t ready to give up hope, “Don’t be too quick to despair. Shouldn’t Nolan’s wedding be the talk of the town? Perhaps I’m exaggerating and I’m not fully understanding how those kinds of families handle weddings. But it just wouldn’t be a rush job to send out a wedding announcement as if it was just to check off a task.”
