Chapter 131
Dominic
I stop in my tracks, already bothered by how Patrick's voice sounds confrontational.
Tightening the grip on my racket even more, I turn around, shooting him a glare while he's still on the ground.
"Why bring my wife into this?" I say to him.
"You don't have to pretend. She obviously told you what happened this morning."
I hesitate to respond, wondering whether I should reveal that I saw them with my own eyes or if I should just play along with what he thinks is the truth.
In the end, I nod confidently. "Of course she told me. Did you think she wouldn't?"
"You knew that and decided to show up here just so you could do this to me." He gets up with a grunt, approaching me to get in my face with a blank expression. "I'm surprised you're visibly upset about this." I crease my forehead in disbelief. "Why the hell wouldn't I be?"
He scoffs. "It doesn't matter. Despite how you seem to feel right now, I don't see what was so wrong about confessing my feelings for someone who was once mine."
Triggered, I punch him in the face and he tumbles, then falls to the ground.
"Stay away from my wife!" I warn him, my hand trembling with a rage that shocks me.
He massages his jaw, looking up at me with a scoff. I know he has more to say, but I don't even want to hear it. I've already dealt with enough as it is, so I storm out, leaving him alone.
Even though I didn't hear everything he had to say, he made it seem like Vanessa wasn't into it and that confirms that there's nothing going on between them. This should make me feel better, but it doesn't. I still have the urge to go back there and punch him a few times until he can't get up.
To blow off some steam, I call Frank instead as I drive back home, telling him about how it went with Patrick.
"It almost sounds like you wanted to put him in the hospital," he says.
"Don't be ridiculous."
"Then why did you hit him so many times?"
"It's not like I hit him with my own hands. I used the balls."
"It's the same thing. So, what are you going to do about this? Will you ask Vanessa?"
"Why should I ask her? It's none of my business."
"But you just made it your business by punching him."
"Isn't it obvious that I did it because I'm supposed to play the role of her loving and supportive husband?"
"I know that, but-"
"Enough about this," I cut him off. "Where are you? I need a drink."
"You really don't want to go home to Vanessa?"
"She might still be with her father."
"Why don't you call her to find out?"
"I don't want to talk to her right now."
"You really sound like a jealous husband."
"Shut the fuck up." I grit my teeth.
He cackles. "I'll meet you at the club in thirty minutes."
By having a few drinks, my hope is to forget about this.
The more I think about the confrontation, the more I feel like Patrick was being too confident in his own actions towards Vanessa. Not only that, he said something that didn't make sense to me.NôvelDrama.Org copyrighted © content.
It seems that not even hurting him
the way I did can help me calm down, but what's wrong with me? This rage is something I've never felt before. No matter what, I can't even fuck is it happening now? Just because I've never seen her kiss anyone else? No. It can't be the reason? I don't want it to be.

Dominic usually texts or calls me throughout the day just to find out how I'm doing but today, that hasn't happened.
Ever since I called him earlier, I
haven't heard from him. It's already late in the evening and there's still no word from him. His phone won't even ring now that it's been turned off. This must be because of the second article. It was too detailed and Carmella's being too daring with this. I'm certain it greatly got on his nerves.
I'm also curious about how it went with Patrick and their match. I could even ask him, but I don't want to talk to him after what happened between us. I still can't get over his unapologetic attitude, still making me wonder why it felt like he knew something he didn't want to say.
I get home around 9 p.m. to the shocking sight of Dominic already in the bedroom, taking off his shoes while sitting on the edge of the bed.
"Hey, I didn't know you were already back home." I slowly approach him, facing the view of his back.
He sighs, stopping for a moment as he says, "I've been here for a while now."
I ignore his unfriendly tone, sitting on the other end of the bed but he instantly gets up and heads to the bathroom, making me flinch a little when he slams the door. He must be worried that Carmella might just reveal the names. I'm worried, too, but it seems he's more affected by it.
Suddenly, he comes out of the bathroom, heading straight for the door to leave the room without looking in my direction and I sigh deeply, deciding to give him space. I can always talk to him later.
Close to bedtime, he comes back to the bedroom still looking grumpy as he begins to take off his clothes so he can shower. I instantly look away just so don't see him naked but my ears pay attention as the buckle of his belt clings a few times.
Mat's all
it takes for me to know that he has
no clothes on his lower half.
I even close my eyes just so I don't look at him even though he's behind me.
He then storms off to the bathroom and slams the door again but a few seconds later, he returns.
"We need to talk," he says, his tone firm.
My first thought is that he's naked, which makes my heart race as he walks over to the other side and stands in front of me but to my relief, his lower half is covered with a towel. I might not be able to see that part, but what's exposed to me still draws in my gaze.
I don't even have enough time to take in the contours of his muscles as I notice his toned chest rise and fall rapidly. He actually seems troubled as he pokes his cheek while looking down at me. "Hey, what's going on with you?" I look up at him. "You've been-"
"I was going to ignore this, but I just can't," he cuts me off, his speech a little rushed.
"What are you talking about?"
