A Blood Bath will occur
“Where’s Iris?” Adolphus asked after he woke up from the evening’s nap. After what happened in the morning, he didn’t see her. In anger, he even ended up injuring his hand. The wound had now healed as he took off the bandage.
“You didn’t answer me, Anthony,” Adolphus quirked his eyebrow at him.
“Miss Iris has left the work in the palace,” Anthony replied.
“What did you say?” Adolphus scrunched his nose and then rose to his feet.
“Iris left the palace, Your Grace,” Anthony repeated. He was a bit scared from inside because the King had given profound instructions not to reveal where Iris went.
“Why don’t you tell me the truth, Anthony? I hate liars,” Adolphus pronounced as he caught the lie he presented to him.
“I didn’t lie to His Grace,” Anthony maintained his stance.
“You are alive because you’ve served me for years, Anthony. One more lie, and I’m going to end your life here,” Adolphus gave him one last chance.
“I cannot speak, Your Grace. Please forgive me,” Anthony apologized and bowed to him. He was ready to get the punishment from the Crown Prince, but he couldn’t either speak about the place, where Iris was sent to.
“You will no longer serve me. Don’t show me your face,” Adolphus proclaimed and walked out of the chamber. He went straight to the King’s manor to see his father. If Anthony chose not to speak, then that was because of only one person.
“Where is Father?” Adolphus asked the servant.
“His Majesty is in the private room of the manor,” the servant replied.
Adolphus resumed the walk and finally reached outside the private room, where the valet stopped him. “The Crown Prince shall wait for a moment,” the valet humbly said.
However, Adolphus didn’t listen to him and pushed the door open before stepping inside.Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
Both Xavier and Nicholai were shocked to see the doors swung open. “Adolphus?” Xavier exclaimed while Nicholai abruptly stood up from his place.
“Where did you send Iris?” Adolphus asked his father.
“Are you still after her? You won’t be getting an answer for that. Now, leave because an important discussion is going on,” Xavier affirmed in his stern tone.
“If this discussion is about my marriage with Nicholai’s daughter, then I’m afraid it will never happen. If I’ve to marry someone, then that person will be Iris,” Adolphus announced.
Xavier couldn’t believe the way his son was acting. “Do you want to go against the King’s order?” he queried.
“I will if he doesn’t tell me where Iris is,” Adolphus stated.
“Don’t make me order to end Iris’s life. Like an obedient son, you have to do what I want, the King wants,” Xavier pronounced while giving out an open threat to his son.
“Father, don’t even dare to do that. A blood bath will occur if anything happens to Iris,” Adolphus proclaimed, his eyes carrying a murderous gaze.
“The Crown Prince should not talk with the King,” Nicholai intervened and suggested Adolphus not go after a human when he could have a powerful and better woman than her.
“Shut your mouth! Who are you to lecture me whom I could get with? When I said I would marry Iris, then that would happen at all costs,” Adolphus affirmed and gazed at his father for the last time before leaving the private room.
As he came out of the King’s manor, he encountered Joshua, his beta and a close friend. “Your Grace, I have been looking for you everywhere. I have something important to report to you,” he asserted in his humble tone.
“Not now, Joshua. I have an important work at the moment,” Adolphus pronounced. The line of worries was evident on his forehead.
“Your Grace, it is about Iris, your personal attendant. I found she was taken away,” Joshua stated.
“Do you know where she is? Father has sent her somewhere and is planning with that bastard Nicholai to make me marry his daughter,” Adolphus blurted out in anger.
“Hudson was the one who took away Iris. He has returned to the palace. The Crown Prince must ask him,” Joshua suggested to Adolphus, who thanked him for having such a piece of big information because his own father had refused to talk about it.
Adolphus and Joshua reached the barracks, where Hudson was present. Seeing the Crown Prince, Hudson greeted him and asked him about his sudden visit.
“Where is Iris?” Adolphus inquired. “I do not wish to hear a lie from you, Hudson,” he affirmed.
“Forgive me, Your Grace, but I cannot go against the King’s order,” Hudson said as he lowered his gaze.
“You have to tell me, Hudson, because I am more dangerous than the King,” Adolphus said with a stern tone.
“Hudson, you should tell the Crown Prince about it. Iris is an important person to him,” Joshua said while handling the matter politely.
“Joshua, the King has clearly given the orders. I cannot speak about the whereabouts of Iris,” Hudson explained. “I love Iris. I want to marry her and my father does not understand my feelings for her. She is my mate. Even though I failed to get the scent from her, my attraction toward her is genuine and real,” Adolphus admitted his feelings openly. He had nothing to fear about and he would go to any depth to have Iris back in his life.
Hudson was in a dilemma because the King’s order was considered supreme. He could not utter anything unless King Xavier himself ordered him to. He understood Adolphus’ feelings since he was also a close person to him. However, his loyalty toward the King would come into question as well.
“You seriously do not wish to tell me. I understand your loyalty,” Adolphus stated and felt vulnerable. Only if he wasn’t cursed, it would be much easier for him to find out Iris. Hudson apologized for hurting him, but Adolphus did not respond to him and walked away.
“He found his mate in Iris and it is always painful for a werewolf if he or she is separated from his or her mate,” Joshua remarked, glancing at Hudson.
