The Art Of Revenge (Thalia Nash and Brandon)

Chapter 96

Chapter 96

Brandon’s Pov

I threw the tablet away, enraged at the fact that she had no hope when I had my guys scouting every

country for a donor. She even had the arrogance to declare that the baby wasn’t mine; that was the

most hurtful statement and it kept recycling in my head. After all, I had done for her, after all the

sacrifices I had made for her.

The machines began beeping, and my meaningless blood pressure shot up. Before that useless doctor

and his minions got in and put me to sleep like some animal again, I began to calm down myself. Sleep

was the last thing I needed. The door sprang open, and they rushed in.

I persuaded them with a phony laugh, “I pinched myself, don’t worry yourselves.” They all looked at me

as if I were insane. The machinery came to a halt, and I let out a sigh.

I asked the doctor when my next session was and he said in four hours. He had earlier increased my

sessions from four to six which was a good sign. Soon it was going to be eight hours then ten and

finally twenty-four or even in a week. I was liking my odds but Thalia was going to be my own undoing.

I slowly removed my covers and asked for one of the minions to help me get to my wheelchair.

“Do you want to go to the toilet, Mr. Fraser?” Dr. Willson asked.

“Do I look like I want to s*it?” I asked him and ordered the minion to take me to the bathroom.

“Are you going somewhere?” He asked again.

“Yes, I’m going to see my newborn baby,”

I nodded and wheeled myself to my closet. I stood up slowly and carefully, my legs trembling from

months of inactivity, but I closed my eyes and focused on my task. I had a feeling Thalia was going to

do something crazy, and I was the only one who could talk some sense into her.

As if I were a toddler learning to walk, I began taking small steps. It wasn’t a problem because I did it

first thing in the morning, except for my bones, which were still stinging like someone was poking me

with hot knives.

“I don’t believe this is a good idea, Mr. Fraser.”

I remarked, “Nestor is coming to load the machine, and I’m relocating to the city.”

The doctor stared at me confused, “But, sir, I don’t recall us talking about that?” he asked. I was on the

verge of rolling my eyes but I controlled myself as I went on dismissing his baffling flaws.

I grabbed a golf t-shirt and some shorts because those were the only items I knew would fit. I returned

to my wheelchair and, despite their protests, wheeled myself to the restroom with my clothing on my

laps. They didn’t have the right to order me around like I was a toddler. I was their employer, and I

expected them to respect that.

I hurriedly took a shower, and the water felt so nice, I couldn’t recall the last time water hit my back.

They were constantly rubbing my back with that useless, filthy wet towel. But I didn’t have time, so I

promised myself that I’d take a six-hour shower in the city. I finished what I needed to do, dressed

myself, and headed out. I was met by the same obnoxious people when I opened the bathroom door.

“Mr. Fraser, please, we don’t know the consequences,” the doctor pleaded.

“Do not worry if I die, Nestor will make sure you remain funded for the rest of your lives,” I joked and

finally got his mouth to shut up. I always knew where to hit when it came to my employees.

I grabbed my tablet and texted Nestor; he was on his way, and he assured me that Thalia had not yet

spoken to her obnoxious ex-husband. I was not going to allow that reunion; that woman was frail, and I

could only imagine how she would react if I were no longer alive.

In exchange for his foolish liver, she would give him all of my fortune. I was even certain it was

scorched; that idiot used to drink like a useless whale, and I didn’t want my baby to inherit an alcoholic

liver.

I checked my emails for a status update but there was none; I wanted to scream but I had no energy.

I chose to wait for Nestor outside, I walked on the sand that felt too hot but I ignored it. The doctor’s

minions followed from behind but at a safe distance. I could only guess they were hoping I’d trip and

fall. “Pathetic,” I said to myself and began making calls while walking on the sticky sand.

It felt like I was learning to walk and my ankle hurt. I only walked for a few minutes and took a seat on

the sand defeated.

After what seemed forever, I noticed my helicopter in the air and got up. I waited for it to land and

quickly marched to it with difficulty ignoring all the pain before Nestor joined the bandwagon of people

that had a problem with me getting off the s*upid bed. I quickly got in and noticed how he had the

fatherly look, the irritating look.

“The machine will be transported to the city too, I have exactly four hours,” I said and told him to start

the dumb Helicopter. He turned without saying a word and started off.

In under thirty minutes, we were at the hospital. I had taken some painkillers just in time and by the

time I took my step I did not feel anything, I knew I was going to come and regret it later.

Thalia had no idea I was at the hospital. I was going to surprise her but first I went to see the baby. I

had no idea how the outcome of meeting with her was going to end but we sometimes behaved like

four-year-olds so in order to avoid my mood turning worse I decided to meet my baby first.

I was trembling as usual; eight months ago, I was convinced I wouldn’t live to see the day. But there it

was, I was going to meet the princess; okay, I had messed up and was still stumped for a name, but I

was not going to name my baby after any name of a woman I had slept with.

I walked in and immediately recognized the machines she was h*oked up to; they were all too familiar.

My heart plummeted as it reminded me of myself and all the suffering I had been through with the

foolish machines. The machines were not the same as mine, but the fact remained that she was in

pain.

The only difference was that she was unable to communicate with us and tell us how much pain she

was in. I began to see why Thalia was so desperate for a liver and was willing to go to jail for it.

I moved closer and stared at her, a tear dropped and I quickly wiped it. The baby and its mother had a

tendency of making me cry and I was never a crier.

“I’m going to get you a liver, your mother and I are going to make sure you get a liver just hold on,” I

said to her. She moved a bit, like she had heard my voice, and slowly opened her beautiful brown eyes.

Not only did she inherit her mother’s beauty but she also inherited her mother’s beautiful brown eyes.

“Hello,” I waved at her. I could not contain my happiness, and yes she was not my biological daughter

but she was mine. It was my willingness to see her face that pushed me to fight every day. Of course,

there was the bonus of f*cking her mother. But first, we had to calm her down.

She was definitely p*ssed with me, and even though what she said to me was uncalled for, but I was

always the mature one. On second thought, I had to remember that she was very emotional and

probably blamed herself for the baby’s condition. It would have been worse if she mentioned me as the

reason the baby was in that condition, that was the main truth, and I knew it.

She put me first and worked on that machine while she neglected the baby. I gritted my teeth and

thought about s*upid Josh’s liver, maybe I was being too selfish or too jealousy. I did not like the

possibility of that useless meat head’s body part being in my Princess but seeing her in that container

called an incubator was heartbreaking.

I needed to think fast, there were always a thousand ways of killing a bird. I quickly wiped my tears and

looked at my watch, an hour had already passed and I was remaining with exactly three hours to be

h*oked to that s*upidmachine.

I waved her goodbye and I could swear she smiled at me. Another tear dropped, I promised her I was

going to get her the dumb river even if it meant stealing it from her s*upidbiological father. I walked out

of the room and found Nestor waiting for me. I expected him to be in Thalia’s room.

“I talked to the management of this hospital and they agreed to give us a room off the books for you,”

he said and moved a bit like he expected me to beat him up or something.

“Are you s*upid?” I asked

“Do not worry I arranged the entire floor for you and it will be guarded and I informed them you were on

kidney dialysis,” he replied. “Brandon it will only be for the days, Thalia and the baby will be here, you

will only have to walk in an elevator to see them rather than driving here every six hours.”

I stared at him for a minute but stopped to ask for directions to Thalia’s room. He was so irritating, but Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.

his plan was not that bad but it would have been better if I came up with it myself. I was becoming too

slow and he was becoming smarter than me, he learned from the best teacher.

I arrived at Thalia’s room and froze at the door, I breathed in hard, gave myself a pep talk before

walking in. She was facing the other side of the room, probably crying.

“Thalia,” I called out but got no response. I cleared my throat and called her again. She turned, her

eyes red and swollen from crying.

She stared at me from bottom to top, she was still p*ssed with me which was evident on her face but

there was a hint of shock. I was standing on my two feet while she left me in bed, adapting to the

machine.

“Are you real or am I so p*ssed with you that I have begun imagining you walking?” She asked.

“You can ask me to take off my clothes and find out,” I replied. She rolled her eyes and turned, I guess

my joke was not funny.

“If you are here to change my mind then you are wrong,” she stated.

“I’m not here to change your mind Thalia, you were right we do not have time,” I replied and took a

seat.

She quickly got up and faced me, “Did you talk to Josh? Did he agree to donate part of his liver?” She

asked, almost excited.

“No Thalia, I think there is a better way to get it without him knowing,” I suggested.

She stared at me, waiting for me to speak but I had no idea how to say what I was thinking. I cleared

my throat for the third time while she kept staring at me.

“For the love of G*d please speak out!” She yelled.

“Well I saw our little angel, whether you like it or not she is mine and she smiled at me,” I tried to

change the subject.

“Brandon I swear, I will put you back in bed if you do not tell me how I’m supposed to get my daughter

a liver from Josh!” She yelled at me with so much anger.

I froze for a minute and only stared at her.
