Chapter 681
That night, Colin took a shower and lay silently in bed. When I got out of the shower and climbed into bed, he held me in his arms. Instead of kissing and hugging me like he did in the past, he patted my back and coaxed me to sleep.
After having so much fun, I was also tired. It was rare to have such a quiet night, so I soon fell asleep.
In a daze, I heard his faint sigh. I also sighed slightly, even when I was half asleep.
He was worried, and so was I. However, we didn't say anything to avoid directing our frustrations at each other.
We were willing to go through hardships together. That was what love should be like.
We were both adults and loved each other deeply. We both wanted to be each other's support.
Jasmine was scheming and could plan anything. Colin had rejected her again in front of many people, causing her to lose her dignity. With her personality, she wouldn't return without retaliation.
If she sought revenge, the condition Colin agreed to would serve as her weapon. If he wanted to complete it, it would be tough.
However, as long as she agreed to the criteria he proposed, no matter how difficult it was, we would grit our teeth and get through it.
Perhaps I couldn't help much, but I would always support Colin.
We would be able to encourage and love one another deeply, which would help in the long run.
Jasmine sent Colin a WhatsApp message the next day. She stated that she would return and had booked a flight. She apologized to us for what she had done and asked for our forgiveness.
We were both soft-hearted, albeit having sharp tongues sometimes. We weren't afraid of her causing trouble. However, when she abruptly apologized, we recalled what we owed her. Jasmine gave us endless mental torture.
We owed her a life and two legs. We had no idea when she could stand up.
After all, she was the one who saved Colin in such a dangerous situation. I couldn't even imagine where he would be without her. Needless to say, everyone knew how important one's legs were.
Colin asked Jasmine how she would complete her rehabilitation if she left.
She claimed she had a medical team at home. She would recuperate when she returned and would be fine soon. She told him not to worry.
Then, he asked about her flight time, and she sent a photo of her ticket.
This time, she didn't leave a long message or mention her relationship with Colin.
I wondered if she had given up or seen through it. I hoped that everything would turn out as I expected.
Without the intrigues and coercion, Colin also let go of his dislike for Jasmine. He sincerely wished her well and told her to take good care of herself. He also offered to take me over to visit her when he had time.
She responded after a while with only a few words. "See you soon."
Those simple words were an expectation for the future, yet they appeared to imply something else.
Based on her message, I concluded
that what Jasmine wanted Colin to do in the future would be particularly difficult. Otherwise, considering her personality, she wouldn't leave so readily, let alone leave such
meaningful words.
On the day she left, Colin and I went to the airport to see her off.
When we arrived, she was sitting in a wheelchair and waiting for a security check, accompanied by a few familiar entourages.
When she spotted Colin and I holding hands in front of her, she stared at our joined fingers in silence for several minutes.
We shook hands and bid her farewell. She smiled in response.Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.
Then, we watched her go through the security checkpoint and disappear into the crowd.
