Chapter 71
RITA'S POW
Waking up to the scent of my mate and to him beside me was the greatest feeling. I smiled sheepishly as I watched him sleep.
I brought my hand to his face and caressed it. He was beautiful. A masterpiece from the creator. It made me have more respect for the one who created all things.
I kissed his nose and beamed, but when I tried to move away, his powerful hands grabbed my waist and pulled me back to
him.
He grinned and opened his eyes. "Do you think you can tease me and get away with it?"
His hardened manhood poked my stomach and I blushed.
He rubbed his lips with his thumb and smiled. "Your face has turned red and now I'm curious." He sat up straight and his eyes moved from my face to my body. "Take off your clothes. I'll watch you as you do so."
My hands moved to the ends of my nightgown and my mate's eyes lit up in anticipation. I slowly took it off and he got harder than he was. I turned red and he smiled smugly.
I knew it." He drew closer and grabbed my waist. My heart fluttered.
Leo, I moaned and his hand moved to my bra strap.
"I like to see every part you
part you blush," he said.
"I thought you wanted to watch me undress. Why are you doing it yourself?"NôvelDrama.Org copyrighted © content.
"You drive me crazy. It's impossible to hold back." He unhooked my bra. I went for his shirt and began to unbutton it, taking any opportunity I could get to touch his chest and abs.
I was halfway through, but he tore off the shirt and drew me closer to himself.
Then, we heard a soft knock on the door. Leo did not stop. He planted a kiss between my breasts and planted more kisses all
way down to my waist.
the
The knock came again. "We should at least check if it is important," I said, but Leo ignored me. He continued with the kisses. The person at the door knocked again,
"Go away, Alpha Leo snarled. I pulled away from him.
"You have to check if it's something important. I'm not leaving anytime soon. I'll always be here."
He frowned and begrudgingly left the bed to the door. He glanced back at me to check and make sure I was properly covered. Seeing that the duvet was doing a perfect job, he looked back at the door and pulled it open. "I told you to leave. Why are you still here?" "Alpha, I just wanted you to know that Tyler has been brought here and we don't really know what to do with him."
"Now you want me to do your jobs for you.
"Alpha, I dare not do the least and think of such. I just wanted to let you know that Tyler is here. I did not want to make a decision without informing you."
Leo looked back at me. He had a frown on his face. He slammed the door shut and walked to the bed. His facial softened and he pecked my cheeks. "I have to go. You shouldn't have made me answer that knock on the door." expression
I laughed. Just go."
He brought his face down and kissed my knee. Then, he walked to his wardrobe to get a shirt to wear before leaving the
room.
I got out of the bed, took my bath and wore whatever my hand grabbed from the wardrobe- a black bubu gown.
I took out one of the pieces of paper Aunt Freya gave me when visited her and took a look at it.
'In that place, you'll find all that you need. I recalled her words and walked to the window. I had to visit this place as soon as possible. But now, things weren't very safe.
I also had to visit Mr. Rio, the wolf that had testified in my favor when Sebastian tried to get me punished for trying to poison the Alpha. The man had proved my innocence and in the process, his colleague, the wolf who worked with Sebastian died. Though I made sure Alpha Leo catered for his safety, that was not enough. I wanted to bring Sebastian to justice and I knew I had procrastinated enough. I had to do something.
I took in a deep breath, walked to my wardrobe and took out a black veil. At least if I hid my face, only a few people would know who was.
Just in case something happened to me, I left a tracker for Alpha Leo to locate me before leaving the room.
After a few minutes of contemplation, I decided to visit the address Aunt Freya gave me first. The place was a small cottage located in the outskirts of the pack environment. I took a deep breath and walked into the cottage. I was welcomed by pictures of Aunt Freya, my mother and their parents.
I saw a few pictures of myself too, but none of my Dad's. I shed a few tears while I took a look at each of the pictures. Each brought back one memory or the other.
The only people alive in the pictures were Aunt Freya and I. Grandma, grandpa and my mother. They were all dead. Aunt Freya was in the pack's asylum. I wish it were not so. These people were my only true blood-related family and now none of them was close to me. I wondered what Aunt Freya wanted me to see here. My eyes darted around the room and then they fell on a small ancient-looking box. My interest was piqued so I walked to the box, blew off dust from it and opened it.
A letter was in the box and I hurriedly straightened the paper to read,
My heart fell when I took a look at the paper. This was my mother's writing. I wiped a tear from my cheek and began to
read
I was poisoned. Don't show this to anybody yet though. Find out who did it and get proof first. I was able to get hold of the person who got me my drink. She refused to tell me who poisoned me. She chose to kill herself for aiding a murder instead. She had taken an oath never to tell, so she gave me a clue instead. She gave me the necklace my murderer was wearing!
I froze.
This was a lot to take in. I recall that my babysitter died the same day my mother died. My spirit almost left my body from the too much shock and fear I was feeling
I took a deep breath and continued reading.
You might recognize this
Below that sentence, there was a drawing. The drawing looked like a pendent. She was right. The pattern of the pendant was familiar. I just could got remember where I saw it.
"I have seen this somewhere, I just can't remember where. The effect of the poison is beginning to kick in, so it's hard to focus and recall where I have seen this pattern. I'm still trying to recall though, but I'm scared that before I do, I will be dead and this is why I am writing this letter. If you can remember where you saw this pattern, it'll be easy to find out who poisoned me.
The 'e' of the last word, 'me' looked like it took a lot of energy to write. It was barely written. That was probably when her life began to leave her body.
My heart squeezed in pain.
I took in another deep breath and looked into the box. There was a necklace and its pendant was the same as what she drew on her letter. A piece of a paper was attached to the necklace and written on it was the sentence:
"The person who poisoned me was wearing this.
I stared at the necklace. I was sure it was my first time seeing this, but it still looked familiar.
Then it dawned on me.
The necklace was not familiar. The pattern was.
I have seen the same pattern on a lock before.
It was the lock of a box that had been in my father and step-mother's room since we moved into that house.
I clenched my fist.
I might have been living with my mother's murderer during most of my life.
