ELAINA'S POV
I was enjoying the company of Alpha Atlas's visitors and was surprised at how chilled they were. When I worked as a maid here, every single one of my superiors made it their responsibility to make us feel less than.
I was introduced to the rivalry and competitiveness of this pack that I thought that every single person, including those at the very top were that way. It was good to know that they weren't
That these people do not look at your rank before relating well with you. I was glad at how they welcomed Emma and I with open arms.
And, when Beta Conri invited me over to see a movie with him. I was overjoyed. Well, that was until Atlas went to him and punched him in the face.
I had to lash out at him. Why would he punch Conri in the face when he invited me to see a movie with him? Was he jealous? If he was, what gave him the right to be jealous? He has rejected me twice, so what exactly did he want from me? When he stormed out of the place, I went over to Conri and began to console him. Emma was asleep so I carried her and took her with me to him. He winced in pain and my heart fell at the sight. What I felt for him was in no way similar to what I felt for Alpha Atlas the one time I tried to kiss him and he pulled away from him.
What I felt for Conri was more familiar. As he winced in pain, I had flashbacks again.
This time, I was standing before a young wolf who was about four years old.
"Mom!" The boy had cried out and he looked at me like I had done something bad to him. Like I was a monster.
"I am not a monster," I said out loud and Conri looked at me with confusion written all over his face. "Nobody called you a monster," He said and I smiled nervously.
"Sorry, I have weird flashbacks and they make me say strange things," I said and he nodded.
"No problem."
Janice joined us. She looked at me for a long time and then she finally said what was on her mind. "Are you his mate?"
"I was his mate. He rejected me."
"He did?" She looked shocked. "Well, it is his loss."
I smiled and she smiled back at me. Then, she held my hand. "I would have loved to have you as a daughter in law."
Conri blushed hard and somehow this felt wrong. I smiled at her though,
"She is my daughter in law already," Rita said as she joined us. "So, forget about those thoughts of yours. If Atlas does not marry her, I will marry her." "You will go what?" Janice asked and they both laughed.
Rita looked at Conri. Then, she went over to him and cupped his cheeks. "I'm sincerely sorry for what that hot-headed son of mine did to you." "You're lucky Conri is not like me, I would have made him cold-headed."
"Well, Conri is more like me, while Atlas is more like you. We must have switched sons," Rita said.
"Right." Janice laughed. "Give me my son back and I will give yours back."

"Deal," Rita said and we all laughed. I loved how these she-wolves related with each other. This could have caused a drift between them, but it didn't.
We talked about random things and somehow our conversation fell back to the topic of finding Zara.
"I should show you an image of her," Rita said, taking out her phone. "I find her oddly familiar. I feel like I have seen her before, but I don't really know where."
At that moment, Darius and Leo joined us. Rita then gave her phone to Janice. "That is the Zara," She said and Darius joined his mate to look at the picture.
"That is my cousin, Zara," Darius yelled and everybody froze.
ALPHA ATLAS'S POV.
"Hello, everyone. I apologize for my behavior earlier today. It was unethical and inappropriate and definitely not an exemplary act. I just could not hold back myself because I love Elaina and-" I paused and groaned.
"Darn it!" For the first time in my life, I was having a hard time like this. My feelings for Elaina have turned me to someone else entirely.
I was practicing what to say when I meet up with everybody, but I could not just find the right words to use.
It was annoying. I decided to meet them and just say whatever came to my mind, because my practice was futile. When I got there, I took a deep breath and I approached them.
"Hello, everyone. I-"
"Alpha Leo, the Zara that claimed to be Elaina's aunt is actually my father's cousin," Conri said and I furrowed my brows in confusion.
Things have taken an interesting turn now. What business will Uncle Darius's cousin have with Elaina? If she was really Elaina's aunt, doesn't that make Elaina a relative of Uncle Darius? I smiled inwardly, I liked the idea of her being related to them. So, Conri stood no chance.
Little wonder Elaina was like Athena.
My eyes widened.
What if Elaina was Athena? My heart began to beat fast.
Zara talked about a birthmark on Elaina's upper shoulder. But, Athena had no birthmark. But, what if what was on Elaina's back was not a birthmark. I had to check the birthmark she was talking about.
"Elaina, can I check the birthmark on your shoulder?" I asked and she had a confused look on her face.
"It's an order," I said sternly. "I am not asking you to strip me. Just show me the birthmark on your shoulder."
She pulled down her shirt and I checked her shoulder. I saw five dark spots and my mind wandered back to the last day I saw her. I had sunk my five fingers deep into this exact side of her shoulder when I was trying to pull her away. I was certain that it could leave this kind of mark.
But, what about her hair?
"Has your hair always been dark?" I asked,All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.
She shook her head. "No."
"What was your hair color?" Lasked. I followed her gaze to Uncle Darius' hair.

I took a deep breath. I was beginning to hyperventilate. "Elaina, or should I call you Athena, give me an answer. What was the color of your hair?"
I noticed that I iris dilated when I mentioned the name, Athena,
"You once told me that you had another name. What was the name?"
