MISSING
Carla poured some powdery contents into a cup of juice, and she mixed it smiling wickedly.
It was high time Layla left this house, and this time Carla had not planned to hurt her but Nolan would throw her out by himself.
“Hey.. come here..” she flagged down a maid who was passing by as she handed over the cup of juice to her.
It was Keissha’s party, the one Layla gas organized for her. Layla was having fun and Carla was sure to ruin that fun.
“Give this to the queen instead..” she instructed the maid who stared at her suspiciously.
The maid looked at Carla, her expression hesitant.
“Are you sure you want me to give it to the queen?” She asked, confused. Layla had ashed her for a cup of juice.
Carla smiled, trying to reassure the maid.
“I’m sure, Layla prefers mango juice, not orange juice. Trust me, she’ll love it.” Carla tried to convince her.
The maid still looked uncertain, but she reluctantly took the cup and began to walk towards Layla.
Carla watched her go, feeling a twinge of excitement.
It was finally happening, the day she’ll finally throw Layla out of the house.
The corner of her lips curved up in a sinister smile as she watched Layla drink the contents of the juice.
Carla watched as Layla sipped the juice, savoring every moment. She knew that what she was doing was cruel, but she didn’t care.
She watched Layla and when she noticed that she was starting to act strange, she approached her.
“Layla, are you okay?” She asked, holding Layla who looked up at her.
“I’m fine..” Layla replied, releasing herself from Carla’s hold.
“Where’s Nolan?” Layla asked, looking around the room. Keisha was speaking with Aurora and some friends but Nolan was nowhere to be found.
“He’s probably busy. You look stressed, you should get some rest..” Carla faked some sincerity to Layla who was feeling a splitting headache.
Layla wasn’t convinced. She knew that something was wrong, that something was very, very wrong. But she couldn’t put her finger on it. She felt a wave of nausea wash over her, and she began to feel lightheaded.
“I… I need to go to my room,” she said, struggling to stand up. “I… I don’t feel well.”
“Are you sure you’re okay?” Carla asked, her voice full of fake concern.
“Do you need me to get a doctor?”
Layla shook her head, trying to fight back the feeling of panic that was rising within her.
“No need. Get me to my room and tell Nolan to meet me there..” Carla shook her head as she began to help Layla up the stairs.
“It must be because of your pregnancy..” she said as they got to the hallways.
” Yes, I..” Layla’s voice trailed off. She could feel herself slowly losing consciousness.
She felt dizzy and it was as if she would pass out soon.
Carla smiled in contentment on seeing that the drug was already having its effects on Layla.
Layla’s vision began to blur, and she could feel herself slipping away. She tried to call out for help, but no sound came out. She could feel herself sinking into a dark, bottomless pit, and she knew she wouldn’t be able to climb out.
Carla watched as Layla’s eyes closed, her body going limp. She felt a rush of adrenaline, a sense of power and control.
Smiling contentedly, she dragged Layla into a room.
No one was around, everyone was having fun at the little party Layla had organized.
It would take time before they realized she had gone missing.
Out from the closet, a guard emerged.
“Stay beside her and hold her tight. Make sure to make it look like you guys are a couple..” she instructed the guard who shook his head.
” Once Nolan comes in, tell him that Layla forced you into this and that you both have been having an affair for so long now.. ” she instructed Jake. The guard she had paid to help her excited her evil plans.
” Okay… ” Jake replied.
” Good, once you hear voices. You know what to do… ” Carla smiled as she spared a glance at Layla who was lying unconsciously on the bed.
There was no way Nolan was going to forgive her after seeing this. He’ll definitely throw her out
She gave Jake a thumbs up before leaving the room.
As she headed back downstairs, she heard someone call her name and she turned to see Nolan.
“Hi, Nolan..” she smiled fixing her hair. A wide and seductive smile formed in her face.
“Have you seen Layla?” Nolan asked, going straight to the point. She was not downstairs and he had been searching for her.
“No, I don’t think so..” Carla denied shrugging her shoulders.
“Nolan, can you find her?” Keisha approached them with Aurora, they all had worry etched in their faces.
“No, I can’t find her..” Nolan replied. Now he was getting really worried.
“Have you tried calling her? I’ll call her..” Aurora volunteered but Nolan stopped her.
“No need. Her cell phone is right here with me”
Aurora’s eyebrows furrowed, a look of concern on her face. “What do you mean, her phone is with you? Why is she not carrying it?”
“I have no idea.” Nolan replied. “I found it on the table in the dining room.”
“That’s strange.” Keisha said, her eyes narrowing. “You don’t think something has happened to her, do you?”
“I don’t know,” Nolan said, his voice full of worry. “I’m getting concerned.”
“We should ask the guards to search for her. Maybe she went somewhere. Ti gets something maybe..” Keisha reasoned but Layla wasn’t the type to just disappear.
“I think you guys should check the rooms upstairs. She must have probably gone to rest. She’s pregnant and must have been exhausted. ” Carla suggested, feeling so happy within her.Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.
Layla was in deep trouble now.
Nolan and Keisha both looked at each other, their faces filled with concern. But they agreed with Carla, and they all headed upstairs to check the rooms.
As they went from room to room, they didn’t find Layla anywhere. They were beginning to panic, the worry growing with each passing moment.
Finally, when they reached the last room, they opened the door with the last glimmer of hope on them. And lo and behold Layla was there.
On the bed, she was not alone, she was with a man. A guard precisely and they were both in a very intimate position.
Nolan felt his whole being wash away on seeing his wife in bed with another woman.
