Chapter 107 Infuriating Words!

Heather stopped in her tracks.

She and Byron had previously agreed that at least in public, they would act as if they respected and

loved each other.

His actions and behavior, however, were the opposite of what they had agreed upon.

“You’re such an unfilial son!” Lola snapped. She was so exasperated that her heart began to ache.

“Lola…” The wealthy lady, whom the others had never seen before, called out to Lola with a look of

anxiety on her face.

Lola frowned.

She gestured to the bodyguards.

“Heather, please go in and take care of Byron’s grandmother while I go rest in the lounge for a while.

I’m not feeling too well,” Lola said feebly to Heather.

Heather nodded.

Taking the wealthy lady along with her, Lola headed to the lounge next door.

She closed the door.

Next, Lola slapped the lady on the face.

“Why did you show your guilty conscience? No one suspected you at first. But you let it out on your

own.”

The lady clutched her cheeks.

The eyes are a little red.

Gritting her teeth in anger, the wealthy lady barked, “How can Athena Newton be so sharp and

cunning? She actually suspected me with such a subtle hint!”

Lola didn’t expect it either.

A woman of few words, Athena did not seem to be particularly intelligent.

It seemed that she had really underestimated Athena.

“She can keep suspecting till the day she dies. Anyway, she will never get the surveillance footage or

find those two children, so she has to take the blame, whether she likes it or not!”

Lola bore immense hatred for Athena.

She gave Athena a hard slap without mercy.

At this moment, one of Athena’s cheeks was already swollen.

Byron brought an ice pack over and carefully applied it on her

face.

“Don’t answer any of their calls in the future,” Byron said in a

deep voice.

“Okay.”

Athena nodded.

There was no explanation.

No complaints.

No grievances…

She simply responded indifferently.

At noon, the two had just finished arguing.

The two of them had met once again under such agonizing circumstances.

Byron felt a little irritable for no rhyme or reason.

“You have nothing else to tell me?” Byron asked.

In the past, she was always looking for something to talk to him

about.

He wondered, “Why doesn’t she have anything to say to me now?”

It was especially puzzling to him since a farce had just occurred.

Athena looked at him and said, “What do you want me to say? Do you want me to describe what it

feels like to be despised and treated like a homewrecker? Having your feelings hurt and being picked

on?”

Indeed, Athena was really something.

She would get on Byron’s nerves with her silent treatment.

However, the words she spoke would infuriate him to no end!

“You’re not one!” Byron exclaimed, inadvertently tightening his grip on her hand.

Athena inhaled sharply in pain.

“Does it hurt? I’m sorry…” Byron panicked and quickly removed the ice pack before gently blowing air

onto Athena’s injured

cheek.

It was the first time that Athena had seen such a side of Byron.

She thought she had been seeing things.

She wondered, “Could it be…”

She started to wonder if she had already died in Salin City the other day.

She wondered, “Am I living in a dream now?”

“What are you looking at me like that for?” Byron asked with puzzlement.

“Nothing. Just wondering if I’d already died in Salin City that day, and I’m actually living in the

underworld right now,” Athena answered truthfully.

Byron’s body stiffened.

Athena immediately winced in pain.

Byron grabbed her chin and chastised her, “No nonsense!”

Athena hurriedly replied, “Okay, okay let go!”

Byron let go with a sullen expression on his face before continuing to soothe her face with the ice pack.

Once again, the two fell silent.

Byron said, “I found out the next day that you almost died, which scared the hell out of me.”

Athena looked down.

She didn’t speak to him or look at him.

It was only right for her to be disappointed. She was terribly disappointed after that phone call.

After hearing those words Byron said, she had no other emotions except some bitterness in her heart.
