Chapter 54: Shiyao Freaked Out
“You feel sorry for her, huh?”
You Ze touched Shiyao on the top of her head, but she was still in a daze.
“She didn’t mean it, I know, even though she never liked me…”
Shiyao was torn. She was really angry, but it hurt even more when people she had treated with her heart had been backstabbing her.
Ji Manqing’s situation was clear to Shiyao. She couldn’t have got here if life had treated her kindly.
“Where’s her younger sister?” Shiyao remembered the skinny little girl.
“You mean the little girl who entrapped you? We’ve found her and are considering what to do with her…”
“Enough!” Shiyao burst out shouting.
“Leave her alone, okay?”
You Ze frowned, thinking she was just too kind. What he didn’t know, however, was that the little girl reminded Shiyao of the despair she had ever experienced.
Now that Ji Manqing was dead, she wanted to move on, getting rid of these bad things…
“Ok,”
You Ze said softly, watching the sun rise outside.
“Are you hungry? How about buying breakfast for you?”
Shiyao looked out of the window and found it was bright outside. That was really a tough night.

Shiyao replied sheepishly, and touched her flat stomach.
You Ze stretched his arms, only a little tired thanks to his super-healthy body.
…
You Ze bought two breakfasts downstairs, and then hurried back. Hardly had he arrived at the door when Shiyao’s hysterical screams came out.
“Get out of here! Don’t touch me! Go!”
The nurse hurriedly picked up the medicine on the floor and sighed helplessly.
You Ze stormed into the ward and met a young nurse carrying a tray with medicine. She looked helplessly at You Ze, shook her head and tried to retreat.
“Let me try,”
You Ze took over the medicine from the nurse, put breakfasts on the table, and sat down to soothe Shiyao who was furious on the bed.
“Why are you so angry? You’re scaring the nurse away.”
“She said my cut would leave a scar!”
Shiyao sobbed aggrievedly with tears in her eyes.
“You Ze, she is a liar.”
You Ze gently wiped away her tears with soft fingers, carefully unwrapped the gauze, and changed dressing for Shiyao.
“Is she? Answer me.”
Shiyao raised her voice more.
“Be a good girl, or your wound may get infected!”
Without indulging her, You Ze held her down to keep her from struggling.
“She’s telling the truth, isn’t she?”
Shiyao coughed and choked on tears slipping into her mouth.
“I may as well be dead if I can’t be a flight attendant anymore.”
Shiyao muttered to herself. You Ze carefully cleaned her wound in silent sadness.
Finishing changing the dressing, You Ze pulled Shiyao out of bed with force and put food into her mouth.
Shiyao’s mind was wandering. She was energetic even when she just got injured, but now worries completely discouraged her and made her lose the appetite.
One spoon after another, You Ze finally fed Shiyao a bowl of millet soup.
Shiyao gawked at the ceiling, mixed emotions swept over her.
With some remorse, she soon stopped complaining about You Ze.
As far as she was concerned, nothing was as important as her job, which she would loved all her life. She should not have run off or have been so unsuspecting as to easily trust a stranger, even if it was a child.
Shiyao closed her eyes frustrated, unable to imagine how her life would be. If people couldn’t do the things they liked, life would lose its meaning. That was what Shiyao believed. So, she found her goal very young, and had been working hard for it.
Tears falling silently from her eyes wetted the disinfectant-scented pillow.
You Ze staggered a little with his hands down. He was not a man that couldn’t bear fatigue, but the heartache was far more terrible than he could imagine, and it hurt worse than weapons.
Just then, his phone rang. He saw it was Jiang Fengyi, stood up and left the room.
Because he and Shiyao were unseen for a whole day, Jiang Fengyi was a little worried, and kept calling him.
“Hi, Nana,”
You Ze adjusted his mood, but the weariness in his voice was difficult to hide.
“A’ze, my heart is pumping out of control. Where are you and Yaoyao?”
Jiang Fengyi pressed against her chest, flurried somehow.
“Nana, Yaoyao has a minor injury and is in hospital now.”
“What? What happened to her?”
Jiang Fengyi almost fainted with worry.
“Nana!”
Hearing Jiang Fengyi’s voice on the line, You Ze couldn’t help worrying that the shock would be hard for Nana whose health was poor. If Shiyao’s injury couldn’t be a secret any longer, he would rather tell Nana now than after returning.
“It’s an accident. Don’t worry, Nana. We’ll go back soon.”
“Oh, thank god. It’s ok. Stay there and have a good rest!”
You Ze listened patiently to Jiang Fengyi, and didn’t hang up until she was relieved.
“She seems to have a significant position in your family.”
You Ze put the phone down and saw Xing Shenzhi leaning against the opposite wall.
“I’m surprised you got married so quickly.”
Xing Shenzhi smiled from his heart, while You Ze looked at him, poker-faced.
“Your little new bride jumped out of the window of my room and escaped, with my help. I should have asked her to call me brother.”
Xing Shenzhi sniggered and sure enough, You Ze’s face fell. Though slovenly dressed, he was still showing an imposing manner.
“Stay away from her. You can hurt me, but not her.”
Xing Shenzhi laughed and immediately took on another look.
“What are you talking about? I’m not a bad guy.”
“I’m here for your injured wife. Though her wound is not life-threatening, the effect may be quite serious, right?”
Xing Shenzhi raised his eyebrows, and then immediately retreated two steps when he sensed You Ze’s growing irritation.
“But I have a special medicine for knife wounds that can remove any scars.”
Xing Shenzhi coughed on purpose. After years of studying medicine abroad, he had no sooner returned than he was hired by the best hospital in City A.
It happened that Shiyao was sent to the same hospital. With Shiyao’s report in his hand, Xing Shenzhi thought, ‘How could I let a heaven-sent opportunity slip away?’
