Chapter 580 Two Months Pregnant

Chapter 580 Two Months Pregnant

Howard’s phone also rang. He picked it up, and then waved the device toward Clarissa coldly. She

could only see a document on the screen. As for what it was, she didn’t see it clearly.

“Damien wants to sue me for defamation. That’s just great! I’m in some shit. I don’t even have a place

to go home to.” After saying that, Howard took a page out of Hannah’s book and covered his head. He

even said, “You’re really driving me into desperation! You should watch out.”

Clarissa ignored him and went to Bethany’s office. Coincidentally, Bethany was having lunch.

“You’re only eating now?” Clarissa asked Bethany.

“That’s how it is as a doctor. I really didn’t expect you to come here to watch the drama. How was it?

Was it fun?”

“I’m not here for drama. That girl is my student. Her supervisor got me to come over. Howard Brooks

used to be my superior too, but Damien threw him into prison. He got together with someone I know

after he got out. He’s even taking up her house, and he brought that student there.”

As Clarissa spoke, she thought, ‘Damien’s casual suggestion for Rebecca to move out wasn’t

something simply said. He only wanted to throw Howard into a bigger hole. He knew Howard would

take revenge once out, so he set Howard up.’

Damien’s schemes were really unpredictable.

If Clarissa guessed right, Damien would only get Howard into more trouble if Howard did anything, up

to the point Howard could no longer make a comeback…

As Clarissa thought of this, a shiver ran up her spine.

“It’s so complicated. I don’t get it,” Bethany said. “But what’s up with Damien? Why did he marry

someone else out of nowhere? Whatever you do now, you’ll be treated like his mistress. But if you say

you’re pregnant, how do you think Damien will react?”

Clarissa thought this was a brilliant idea.

Besides, she had gone to Lotharia before. Since he was so suspicious, she would let him suspect her.

“Get me a pregnancy report,” Clarissa said.

“Are you serious?” Bethany was so shocked that she stopped eating.

“Yes, I’m serious. Date it for next week. There’s a meeting at New East Corporation this week. Make it

realistic and say I’m two months pregnant,” Clarissa said.

“Sure. I want to make Damien angry too.” Bethany got annoyed at the thought of how Damien had cut

off her access to Mrs. Faber.

The following week, Clarissa taught her classes in peace.

Friday was the usual meeting at New East Corporation. © 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.

Clarissa did not ask for leave and attended it.

She had dressed particularly nicely, wearing flats and a red coat. Her makeup was also very

respectable. She had always been a bombshell who looked gorgeous even without makeup. Once she

put on makeup, she looked even more spectacular.

Damien sat at the head of the table as usual as he listened to everyone’s opinions.

“We’re planning to build a hospital in Ashland. It cannot be small. We want to convince the best

medical college in Florin to move there, along with its hospital. Please discuss whether it should be a

branch or a comprehensive move,” Ray said.

Everyone started chiming in with their thoughts.

Clarissa rubbed her head. She was the only one who hadn’t shared her opinion.

“What’s wrong, Clare?” Janet asked in concern.

“I have a slight headache. It’s fine, you guys keep going. Ignore me,” Clarissa said. “About the hospital,

I agree. If we can do it, we should get the hospital to move there completely. If it’s a branch, people

might think that its quality falls short compared to the main branch. People will still go there, and we

won’t be able to raise our prices.”

Everyone started nodding.

Damien kept stealing glances at her.

Clarissa rushed off after the meeting, not staying for even a second longer.

On the way home, Clarissa was smiling. If Damien cared about her, he surely would’ve noticed. If he

didn’t, then it was fine. She would have just acted out a show for herself.

Her phone soon rang.
