Chapter 367
Chapter 367 Prized Possession
Later in the day, Maggie packed her things and moved in with Nathael. Over the next two days, she enjoyed herself, following Nathael’s suggestion and going to work with him, experiencing a bit of office
romance.
On the fourth day, while Nathael was showering, Maggie received a call from Iris.
Glancing at the closed bathroom door, she went to the kitchen to get herself a glass of water while listening to Iris’s voice on the other end.
“Ms. Adam, I’d like to meet with you tomorrow to discuss your condition in person.”
The voice on the phone was cold, almost robotic; it was devoid of emotion but direct. NôvelDrama.Org holds this content.
“Alright.”
“I’ll send you the address shortly for our 10:00 PM meeting.”
“Sounds good.
After Maggie responded, Iris hung up, leaving Maggie feeling a bit bewildered in the kitchen.
After a moment of silence, she texted Leo. ‘Free tomorrow? Join me for an outing.
Sure.
Leo’s response came quickly. He didn’t ask where they were going but simply agreed.
Maggie remembered the address and then cleared the call and message logs.
Without a doubt, at that moment, she felt an inexplicable sense of nervousness. Even facing death, as long as there was a glimmer of hope, she couldn’t help but anticipate it.
After all, who wouldn’t want to keep living?
The next morning, Maggie and Nathael had breakfast together.
Then she said, “I won’t be joining you at the office today. Leo and I are going to the company, and then we’re meeting Mia for lunch.
Maggie spoke casually, trying to appear nonchalant.
Nathael looked up at her and said slowly. That’s sudden.”
“Not really. There hasn’t been much going on lately, and going to the office with you every day is getting boring. I need some fresh air.”
Nathael raised an eyebrow, his gaze penetrating. “Am I boring you?”
Maggie smiled. “Of course not. I’ll come to the office with you tomorrow… It’s not healthy for me to stay cooped up in the room or office playing games all day while you’re in meetings.”

Nathael had initially wanted Nolan to follow her, but considering her reluctance, he stopped himself and said, “I’ll take you to the company and chat with Leo for a bit later.”
“Okay.” Seeing him agree, Maggie didn’t object.
After sending a message to Leo to meet at the company, Maggie felt a bit relieved.
Thirty minutes later, the car pulled up in front of the company. To make ivmore authentic, Leo didn’t come down to greet them.
Maggie, accompanied by Nathael, went upstairs, eagerly exploring the company’s layout and structure.
Previously, to avoid suspicion from the Camerons, she hadn’t visited much. She had only collaborated with the company under the name ‘Gianna‘ and provided many pieces for Leo to sell.
“This will be my office from now on!” Maggie couldn’t help but exclaim as she stood in front of a spacious office, her expression filled with excitement and a hint of pride.
She looked genuinely happy, with even her eyes and eyebrows expressing joy.
Nathael followed her gaze and surveyed the office, a blend of a lounge and a workspace with an open and bright layout. The abundant sunlight, coupled with the high floor, provided a view of the city at sunrise and the neon lights at night through the massive floor–to–ceiling windows.
On one side, there was a spacious desk and a workstation, while the background bookshelf and cubbies resembled those in her house.
One could imagine how she would decorate it once she started working there.
Eagerly, Maggie sat on the swivel chair and, with a serious expression, told Nathael, “Nathael, this design is too old–fashioned. Take it back and redo it!”
Nathael’s eyes twinkled with amusement as he looked at Maggie, then calmly replied, “Will do, Ms. Adam.”
Maggie burst into laughter at his response.
Just then, Leo arrived, leaning against the door frame with a gentle gaze fixed on Maggie.
“Hey, Leo, Maggie said with a wave.
Nathael turned to Leo, his tone serious. “Mr. Caleb, can we chat for a bit?”
“Sure thing.” Leo agreed and got up.
They stepped out of the office, standing beside the tall windows by other desks, talking quietly.
Maggie tuned out but figured Nathael was fretting over Sierra. That woman was unpredictable.
A while later, Nathael came back, addressing Maggie. “Stay close to Mr. Caleb and stick around this building.”
“Got it, got it. Nathael, do you know who you remind me of…
Maggie rambled on.

Nathael stayed silent, his dark eyes fixed on her, alinost secking assurance.
Maggie raised her hand and vowed. “I promise I’ll be fine!”
Since her last kidnapping by Timmothy, this man seemed traumatised and was always worried she’d end up in danger.
Only then did Nathael look away and leave.
After he left. Maggie let out a sigh, her smile fading. She turned her chair towards the windows, lost in thought.
Leo came over and rubbed her head. There was a rare warmth in his usually cool eyes. “Don’t worry. Everything will be fine.”
Maggie smiled wistfully, asking, “But what if it
it won’t?”
Leo hesitated, his throat moving as he struggled to find words.
During this period, he had been researching the Dream Venom and looking into similar cases, both local and abroad.
But the outlook wasn’t promising, and there hadn’t been any breakthroughs yet.
They sat in silence for a while. Then Maggie whispered, “I can’t stand leaving him.”
Yet, the joy these days felt fleeting. Maggie told herself that maybe she should be content.
Compared to her past life of being manipulated and deceived, this one was much better.
Leo spoke slowly, “He wants me to beef up security, monitor everyone’s movements closely, and stay alert for Sierra and others up to no good. He even told me to have someone accompany you to the bathroom.”
Maggie chuckled lightly at his words before standing up. Her face brightened a bit. “He’s worried I’ll be harmed again! I must be his prized possession!
In this life or the last, Nathael always made her feel valued. She felt happy.
“Let’s get going. We’re running late, Maggie said, checking the time.
Leo made sure to bring along a man and a woman whom Maggie had seen before; they were both skilled aides from the Calebs.
As they got into the car, Maggie’s gaze fell on a mother with a young girl about two to three years old walking by the road, and she felt a bit lost in thought.
“You shouldn’t eat too much ice cream. It’ll upset your stomach, okay?”
“Got it, Mommy!”
Watching them, Maggie teasingly said, “Leo, do you think it’s too late for me to have a child with him?”
