I Refuse to Divorce

Chapter 32

Chapter 32

Zoe was quite surprised.

Due to the previous issues with Gabriela, Gregory had not treated her very kindly. Just the night before, he had caused trouble for her. Now, he was offering to give her a ride.

Zoe instinctively felt that he had ulterior motives. She stepped back, adopting a slightly distant attitude.

"Gregory, you promised not to make things difficult for me."

Gregory stared at her momentarily before uttering, "I know."

With that, he drove away, leaving behind a trail of smoke.

Zoe thought that the matter with Gregory had come to an end.

However, that night, she met him again on the 56th floor of the Imperial Hotel. He was sitting with Leslie and the others, but this time, no starlets or models were by his side.

When Zoe went on stage, Gregory glanced up. This seemingly casual gesture did not escape Leslie's notice. He casually played a pair of kings, saying, "Gregory, you don't usually come to my place. What's going on today? What brought you here?"

Gregory responded lightly, "Am I not welcome here?"

Leslie chuckled. "Did I say that? I will always welcome the renowned Gregory Waldolf to come and shower money on me every day."

With that, Gregory only gave a faint quirk of his lips.

Just as they were talking, Mason came over. He seemed to have come from home, dressed in a black shirt and pants, with a navy blue windbreaker draped over him. With his tall and slender figure, he easily captured everyone's attention as soon as he entered.

Leslie looked at Gregory, and Gregory shifted his posture, his expression somewhat lighter than before.

Leslie chuckled. "Mason is here too! Why, are you here to pick Zoe up after work?"

Ignoring his teasing, Mason sat opposite Leslie. He took a cigarette from his pocket and casually placed it on the coffee table before saying, "I'm taking Zoe back to the old house for the night. Grandma really wants to see her."

Leslie smiled again. "Oh, something's up!"

He lowered his voice and continued, "But can you still bring her out? I heard from Ella that you guys are getting a divorce, and the divorce papers have been sent to your company."

Marital matters were private, and Mason had no interest in sharing. He lowered his head to light a cigarette, taking a casual drag and exhaling a thin wisp of smoke.

At that moment, he unexpectedly noticed Gregory's presence. Although Gregory appeared calm, sometimes a man's intuition was exceptionally accurate, especially when the woman in question was his own wife.

Gregory was here because of Zoe.

Mason stared at Zoe on the stage for a long while before withdrawing his gaze, saying calmly, "Let's play cards. Same old rule, one game, 1.5 thousand dollars?"

Leslie echoed, "Sure, one game, 1.5 thousand dollars."

Gregory remained silent, extinguishing the cigarette in his hand and shuffling the cards.

At ten o'clock, Zoe left work early. As soon as she stepped off the stage, Mason threw his cards onto the coffee table and stood up.

"I'll be going now."

Leslie watched Mason's departure, a meaningful smile playing on his lips.

Turning around, he held a cigarette between his lips, seemingly nonchalant as he said, "Gregory, don't keep staring. They've been married for three years.

"I'm not trying to imply anything, but you get swayed so easily. Just two days ago, you were causing trouble for her, and now you seem to like her? Did you knock your head or are you high?"

Gregory pinched the cigarette butt, slowly releasing a smoke ring.

He glared at Leslie and cursed, "Nuts! I don't know what you're talking about."

Leslie pointed at his heart.
