Chapter 102
Chapter 102
When he was done, Mason let Zoe go and went to take a bath. He was dressed neatly by the time he came out of the bathroom.
Meanwhile, Zoe stayed behind, too worn out to move at all.
He gave her a sidelong glance and sneered before he left the room. He got into his Bentley, but didn't leave immediately. Instead, he lit up a cigarette and smoked it.
The truth was that he no longer had a good time during sex if Zoe was miserable about it. It lacked a certain something when she wasn't as into it as he was.
A thin wisp of gray smoke rose and swirled around him, giving him an air of mystery. He thought about his wife and what she said to him.
Did she really just ask him if he could love her and make sacrifices for their relationship?
He smirked to himself at the thought of it.
Raised in a twisted environment, Mason had never learned how to love anyone, nor did he ever intend to. With that said, he was obsessed over Zoe’s love for him, but he wasn't sure why.
Perhaps it was because he had read her diary. He wanted to trap her within his grasp and watch her give in to her pleasures. He wanted to see the look on her face when she loved someone unconditionally. He wanted that look to be reserved for him, and only him.
He considered such a thing a luxury and luxuries were valuable!
With a sigh, he stopped grappling with the issue and drove to work. ConTEent bel0ngs to Nôv(e)lD/rama(.)Org .

The conflict caused Zoe and Mason to give each other the cold shoulder. It had been days since Mason went back home. He wasn't sleeping at the office either. The paparazzi went wild, taking and releasing photos of him in scandalous situations with women.
This time, it was Lilith who was sitting in his car, staring at him in adoration while he maintained a stoic expression. Rumor had it that he spent eighty million dollars to buy her a villa.
The public was sure about one thing then: Zoe may have the looks, but she lost to the rather plain- looking Lilith. It seemed to prove the theory that men would pick a vulnerable and naive woman over a beautiful one. Even Lilith herself was fantasizing about the alleged eighty-million-dollar villa. How she wished that Mason had really bought it for her!
Carly asked her to get a hold of herself. “There isn’t further news about Brittany, the girl who lived in Crocksten. I think it means Mason was merely having a fling with her. At the same time, his wife seems to no longer be a threat! I’ve looked at this from all angles, and it seems Mason loves you best!”
Lilith smiled winningly. “That’s because I woke him up from his coma. That's why his feelings for me are so strong.”
Carly smiled and reminded her daughter. “Don’t tell anyone that you impersonated Zoe, Lilith. We’ll lose our golden ticket for sure if you do.”
Lilith turned pale. “What are you even saying, Mom? I never impersonated her. I was the person who woke Mason up back then. Zoe had nothing to do with it, and there was no foul play!”
Smacking her thigh, Carly exclaimed, “You’re absolutely right. I must have been mistaken!”
That made Lilith’s day.
…
Everyone felt sorry for Zoe and thought she was miserable being Mason’s wife. Ella gave her a phone call. She called Mason a man whore and Lilith a slut. How else would Lilith have been able to stay with him for so long?
Zoe chatted with her for a while before hanging up.
At that moment, the servant spoke through the door. “The chauffeur had prepared the car, Ms. Zoe. Do you want to go out now?”
Zoe replied, “I’ll be there in a second.”
The servant hesitated for a while. “Ava had someone send back a batch of Mr. Mason’s laundry. What would you like to do with it, Ms. Zoe?”
The servant didn’t dare tell her that Mason was planning to live away from home for a good while, and that he wanted her to select and send over a few outfits for him.
However, Zoe could guess what was unsaid.
Her husband wasn’t coming home, but she wasn’t the least bit fazed.
Thinking about the kind of places and functions he might attend, she packed up a few suitable outfits and accessories. She was even thinking that she could teach his lover his preferences if he wasn’t going to stay in his own place, so he could live more comfortably out there.
