His Luna

Bracelet

“Thank you for all the help and learning you brought here, Vera,” Sinitra said, while walking me to the entrance of their village, “Make sure to come again, you are always welcome here,”

I smiled and nodded, the villager citizen was with me, as I’m bidding goodbye to them, I extended for another two days, due to what happened in the woods, my eyes were still a mystery to me, I thought it would change overnight, but it didn’t, it remains the same. I have to see a doctor, once I come back to Vildorwick, something must have happened to my eyes.

Although my eyes were perfectly fine, my vision was still clear, and I didn’t feel any headache, or what, I was observing myself, and it was completely fine, still, I had to seek professional advice for this.

“I will find time to come back here, don’t worry, I’ll let you know, if our project launches, I’ll be sure to invite every one of you, so please be healthy, especially you,” I held Carmela’s hand, she’s the one who warned me, three days ago, she must have a reason for doing that, and right now, I chose to believe.

She gave me a knowingly smile, and nodded, “I will make sure to stay healthy and wait for you to come back, I’ll be looking forward to seeing you again, Vera,” even her way of calling my name was different.

She’s a shining star, literally shining, her life force was mixed with gold and silver. She looks way too pure, she’s a mother, I knew it, she’s carrying a child inside her, I didn’t know if everyone knew about her pregnancy, however, I respect if she tells no one, she did not even tell me.

“Go, and be safe,” Sinitra said, followed by a soft smile, I grabbed my bag, and the other villagers helped me with my other bags. I came here carrying seven bags, but now, I only have three, and this contains, the output of their learning. I will use it to come up with a plan that will surely help them.

We walked for almost an hour before we arrived at my car. It’s a bit messy, leaves were in the hood of my car, and there are also some prints of animals and some poops from the birds, I open the door, and instruct them to put the bags inside. I opened the back of my car and got my tools.

I open the hood and start to fix it, I have a little knowledge about fixing this, just a bit, and if this won’t fix my car, then I have no choice but to walk again, until I find phone service, and ask for company assistance. I didn’t have the chance to try it the first night I came here, since it was too dark, and those rogues attacked me.

Luckily, that little knowledge helped me, my face lightened up when I heard the engine starts, what a lucky dumbass we got here.

“Vera,” Arthuro, one of the village guards called me, he gave me a small smile, and handed me something, I carefully grabbed it in his hand, “We don’t have any money to compensate or pay you for your kindness to us, thank you for believing and teaching the children in our village, and to my son, who always craved for new learning,”

I nodded and tapped his shoulder, he’s a six-foot man, but his expression was as soft as the clouds, “Don’t worry, your son will be successful someday, I can see it in his eyes, he’s determined and flexible, he will do great,”

He slightly nodded, “You gave him the thing that I cannot give to him, a proper education, even though I, don’t have the privilege to have it,”

I took a glance at the glass she gave me, it was a miniature of me, made in glass, smiling, and holding a book, sitting on a beautiful chair, it looked like a queen’s chair, what I noticed was that my eyes were already blue there, and I have a crown, I looked at him, confused.

He must have seen that, “You will be a queen of your own world, a hero to your own people, and an educator to fools who aim to be great like you, blue eyes, suits you better,” my lips curled up, and my heart immediately filled with warmth.

“Thank you,”

After that, we bid goodbye, I thank them, for their kindness. I traveled for six hours before I finally reach the border of Vildorwick, I smell the scent of freshly baked bread from the famous pastry around downtown. They were my favorite.

Around nine o’clock, I arrived at my house, the guard helped me carry my bags, up until the elevator, I clicked the ninth floor, which was where my apartment was located. I got this from working too hard, I paid cash, from my salary, and grandpa’s allowance to me when he was still alive. I saved it, and I didn’t know that I would use it to buy my own flat.

I fished my key card and inserted it into my door. I put all my bags and immediately go naked, to have a long, warm bath. I feel really sticky, due to the long ride. I was browsing on my phone for a good song when it rang, I excitedly smiled upon seeing the caller ID.

“Hey,” I greeted, as soon as I answered the call.

“OMG! Guess what?!” her high-pitched voice echoed through my ear, I just shook my head at that, I’m used to it.

“You’re back? Yeah, I can see that since you’re using a local number,” I burst her excitement bubble, I heard her loud gasp, feeling betrayed.

“You bitch! Let’s meet and I’ll teach you some good manners! Learn from the master! You better get your fat ass here, favorite café, I saw a cute guy,”

I rolled my eyes, and laughed, “Yeah, be there at forty, order for me, see you,” I said and ended the call. I guess, I’ll be rescheduling my hot tub, jeez.

I took a quick shower, I chose to wear a black pencil-cut skirt, and a plain v-neck shirt, paired with white sneakers, and a rattan sling bag. I applied a small amount of makeup, to make it look more natural, I let my long wavy hair just be that, after blow drying it, I took a quick glance at myself, and put in my favorite body spray, before getting my car key.

I drive for like twenty minutes to get to our favorite café, we have been going here since middle school, and everyone from there already knew us. We are these students who brought hard-bound books, then we will stay there until we finish reading our books, we usually drink four to five drinks from their menu; so if someone asks what each of their drinks tastes like, they should call us.

I parked my car, and went straight to the café, the smell of freshly made coffee filled my nose, ahh, how I miss that. It’s been ages since I last went here. I got so busy with my career, that I forgot to pamper myself.

As soon, as I arrived, I didn’t have to roam my eyes to search for Sydney, we had this reserved seat for us, I straightly went to our seat, and I saw Sydney, still oblivious of my presence, “Hey,”

“Fuck!” she shouted and held her chest, people were looking at her, which made me chuckle, she gave me her deathly glare, “You fucker, I told you to stop that habit of yours!”

“What habit?” I fired back and sat at the empty chair, I saw one barista, coming this way, I’m sure he was here to personally take our orders, “Hmm?”

“That, walking without feeling your presence,” she said and rolled her eyes, “What if that someone has a heart attack? Huh? You will be a murderer!”

I laughed with that remark, “Then what should I do? Shout from my end to your end? That would be embarrassing, Sy,”

The barista greeted us, we caught up a little before he got our order, and gave us a pimpcir, it’s a silver circle bell, that would vibrate if our order was ready, and we had to pick it up at the counter. Sy and I had a great time catching up, we have never seen each other like forever, after college graduation, she had to go abroad to pursue her master, and worked there. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.

“Like what the fuck, right?” I laughed while she was telling her exaggerated story, I know her, she always exaggerates a story, I mean that’s her feelings and thoughts, I can’t just invalidate it, “I mean, wh-” she suddenly stopped talking, so, I looked at her, “Where did you get that?” she said, while looking at my arm, I looked at it and saw my bracelet, it was that one Sinitra had given me, “Didn’t you know what it means?”

My forehead creased, “It means protection,”

“You little dumb! You’re so gullible! That’s not protection, that’s an invitation for bad luck! Don’t wear that!” the moment she removed the bracelet, I felt like I’d been keeping my breath for so long that I had to breathe it, my body felt like I fell down to cloud nine.

I looked at the bracelet; it’s color changed, from white to black. I had to blink twice, just to see if I was really seeing this in front of me, or if my eyes were just playing with me.

What the fuck did just happen?!
