Falling for my Ex-Fiancee’s Best friend

Caught!

The next morning, Nathan dropped Demelza at her account reluctantly after she had given him a kiss on his lips. The way that he became soft and gentle made her feel butterflies in her stomach.

“Nathan, we have to go to work. I will get some things ready for you to come over later in the evening if you want” she said, giving him a free ticket into her home.

“I will call when I get to the office. Bye for now,” he returned her kiss before she left his car.

Lately, Nathan had been giving her all the attention that she needed. He was more wanting and caring about her.

The thought of it made her heart flutter incredibly. Once he was out of her sight, she hopped excitedly into her apartment to find something to keep her busy.

Nathan on the other hand couldn’t help with the smile that stayed permanent on his face. He was more than overjoyed with the fact that Demelza was now… no he won’t say close but they had a thing between them.

He won’t call it love but he would agree that he has become comfortable around her. Once he got to his office, he happily walked past his employees with a bright smile that wound their chest.

Their boss was not the kind to work into the office with a mind blowing smile. To them, he was stoic and cold. However, today was different. He went into his office and the first thing he did was to get his phone out of his pocket and dialed Demelza’s number.

“Hello, beautiful. How are you doing?” He asked as if he had not seen her a few hours ago.

“I guess you just arrived at your office. Well I am okay but it is a little lonely without you here. But your absence will be for some hours. So I will manage until you get back,” she muttered fondling with the pillow beside her.

“Hmm, in that case, you can come over and have lunch with me or do you want me to come over for lunch?” He intentionally asked since they earlier agreed she was going to miss work because of her twisted ankle.

“No, if you come over I might prevent you from going back to your house. So I will come to your office,” she shyly mumbled and Nathan laughed.

He could imagine her blushed face right now. If only he could leave his work, he would have driven back to her disregarding all consequences.

“Alright, I will be anticipating your presence for lunch. Before I forget, call me if Hampton shows up at your place or call you. If he tries to be physical with you, call the cops and please don’t open the door for anyone even if it is a delivery. Come straight to the office if you do not feel safe.” he instructed her in a worried tone.

He had become more serious with her father’s case and was worried that Hampton would try to do something dangerous to Demelza.

Nathan had come to act on the fact that he wanted her for himself. So marking Hampton off would be the best idea if he wanted to keep Demelza by his side.

“I will, please take care of yourself and don’t overwork. I won’t be happy if you come back drained without energy,” she said to him before ending the call.

Demelza bit her lips in excitement as she rushed to her wardrobe in search of a nice dress to wear for lunch. Nathan might not notice it but she was head over heels for him.

He made her feel giddy all the time and whenever he was away from her, she felt a sudden loneliness thug on her chest. If only he would see her in the same light as she saw him maybe…

Her phone screen lit up with a message notification which was from Nathan. He sent her a lovesick puppy with a wagging tail.

“How cute,” she mumbled to herself as she brought out a yellow dress that she had bought last summer. After picking her outfit, she went to have a shower just to take her time away.

Once it was eleven, she dressed up in a pretty short dress that elaborated her curves. Then took a huge coat to cover it up since it was her surprise for Nathan. She had naughtily thought of his reaction if he saw her in something sultry.

Locking up her house, she happily walked down the stairs and out unaware of the eyes that were in her.

“Please, sir, can you take me to this address?”, she told the taxi driver the location of the Law Firm. The driver agreed and they both went to Nathan’s firm.

Nathan on the other hand looked at his wrist watch and stomped his left foot impatiently. He was waiting for Demelza.

He had gone out to buy their lunch with the intention of spending quality time with her in his office. But a part of him felt something was wrong.

“What is taking her so long?” He said to himself as he looked through his window counting the number of cabs that stopped at the front of his firm.

On noting the fourth car, he felt relaxed when he saw Demelza step out in a brown overall coat. A smile crept up to his face making him not to notice the other car that followed her behind.

To be honest, he was excited to see her and even desperate to hold her in his arms. His actions were crazy but that was how he felt around her.

Impatiently, Nathan went out of his office to bring her up. Demelza waved when she saw him but he remained composed in order to avoid any kind of suspicion or rumor.

“Hey, was there traffic?” He asked, linking his hand on her waist as they entered the elevator.

“No, I was just bothered about what to wear. Guess what dress I am putting on under my coat,” she beamed with a teasing smile.

“Well, I will have to find out in my own way, Mel. You know I hate guessing,” he said and captured her lips on his.All content is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

They desperately sort after each other but stopped when the elevator doors opened. Demelza heaved breathlessly and hid her red face from Nathan’s employees who had joined them.

“Good day, sir,” they greeted and he nodded. Within, he was burning with annoyance for their interruption. Luckily, they got off on the fourth floor leaving them alone again.

Nathan linked his fingers with hers and gently dragged her into his office immediately they got to his floor. He quickly shut his door and trapped her against it.

“So what are we having for lunch?” She asked as if she didn’t know the menu for the time being.

“I ordered Marconi but we can have them later. What I want now is you,” he whispered and clasped his lips on hers again.

Demelza let him undo the buttons of her coat since she was in desperate need of his touch. When the coat was out of the way Nathan chuckled as he explored her body with his eyes.

“Do you like it?” She taunted him then went over to his couch. The red dress she was wearing was a thigh length off-shoulder that had a net design.

“I do but you shouldn’t wear things like this out of your house. What if someone else sees you by mistake?” He asked with a jealous tone which made her smile.

“That is why I wore a coat to cover up. I just wanted to surprise you, that’s all. There is no need for you to get jealous. I will only let you see me this way so don’t worry about other people’s eyes,” she assured him with a caress on his face.

Nathan agreed and continued from where he had stopped. However, the moment he sealed his lips on hers, the door of his office flung open and Hampton walked in with an astonished look.

“What the hell are you doing Nathan?!” He yelled in anger after what he had witnessed. Before, Nathan would have got up to give an excuse but he remained silent and glared at Hampton.

“Jesus! Did the bitch make you do this to me? You know that she belongs to me right?” Hampton screamed but Nathan remained unmoved.

“You don’t own me Hampton!” Demelza declared but he ignored her and faced Nathan.

“Can you explain this damn shit!” Hampton fussed and Nathan made up his mind to tell him his intentions.

“I won’t be supporting you again in court and Demelza is not yours anymore,” he firmly declared and Hampton roared up in laughter.

“Nathan, I can see that you have completely lost your senses because of the bitch. I won’t blame you because that is what she does to men like us,” Hampton stated as he observed the way she was dressed.

Demelza quickly covered up with her coat as he hated the way he looked at her.
