Chapter 52 Tired of Playing
Chapter 52 Tired of Playing
Viola's back stiffened, and she unconsciously took a look at the medical aisle, where Steven was
staring out of the window. She did not know what he was thinking.
She pinched the phone and said, “Where did you hear the rumor? It's just that he's pestering me.”
“He came to you today, and the whole company knows.”
Leonard laughed on the other end of the phone without showing any particular emotion. “Relax, Steven
is shameless, of course I know what's going on. Personally, I hate him, but I don't speak for you, and I Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
have no interest in getting into your business. His position will indeed be a great advantage to us, as
can be seen in this incident of the horse farm. Just stay alert and don’t make troubles.”
Viola was stunned, was Leonard showing her democracy?
“Yes, I won't let you down,” she whispered, pretending she was calm.
After hanging up the phone, Viola was confused about the meaning of Leonard.
From Steven's appearance to now, Leonard disliked him.
In this dialogue, however, the meaning was ambiguous. Did he mean that she could use Steven's
feelings for the benefit of the Shaws Group?
Viola's mood became complicated, because she did not want to take advantage of Steven’s feelings.
She might be guilty.
For a long time, Viola did not move, but just stared at Steven.
Sensing her gaze, Steven turned around, smiled at her and walked toward her, “Have you finished
reporting?”
“Yes.” Viola looked away and awkwardly fixed her eyes on Sucy who was still in a coma through the
window.
“Don't worry, she'll wake up tomorrow. I'll keep Jordan here until then.” Thinking she was worried,
Steven reached out and touched her head.
“It's time for dinner. What would you like to eat? It's my treat.”
“There's a western restaurant near here that makes fantastic steaks, or Chinese food, if you like.”
“After dinner, we can see the night view. The news tower has a good view.”
Listening to his husky sound, Viola frowned tightly, struggling in her heart.
Finally, when he was about to hold her hands, she patted his hand away with a sneer, “Don't touch me!
Mr. Chambers, you'd better take your man and leave before it's too late.”
“Little chili, who upset you?” Steven was laughing and joking.
Viola raised her eyebrows and shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly. “You taste good. It's really fun to
play games with you, but the game is over and I'm tired of you.”
Please, just go.
His warm smile was like a sun that could dispel the cold.
No one cared how much he had paid for this day. No one knew how many fearful days and nights he
had spent growing from a swaddling baby to the strong and reliable man he was now.
What did it feel like to suffer? Viola knew better than anyone.
Before she knew what happened to him, she would be able to use him without guilt or hesitation.
But now, how could she do that to someone who had the same experience as her?
If she did that, what was difference with the Sutton family?
“What did Leonard tell you?” Steven had long been used to her hedgehog-like posture and looked at
her with folded arms.
Viola hung her eyes, expression could not be seen, “Mr. Chambers, who do you think you are? He
didn't say anything. I'm tired of you and I don't want to be stuck with you anymore.”
Steven chuckled, not even showing a hint of inquiry.
He grabbed her waist and pressed her into his arms, caressing her back as if she were a frightened
animal.
Steven kissed her through her hair, and then fell on her eyebrows, the tip of her nose, her side face,
her ear...
