Chapter 92
“Nice to meet everyone. Look, I’m not here to cause any trouble. I just want to find my real dad and get to know him.” Adriana explained.
Hanna had a really bad vibe about her. She didn’t know why. The girl seemed sweet and nice, but something was definitely off about her.
“How old are you?” Smokey asked.
“20.” Adriana replied.
“You go to college or have a job?” Smokey asked.
“No college yet. I’ve been working odd jobs to save up. Mom’s medical bills wiped us out.” Adriana replied.Content is © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
“You planning on moving here?” Hanna asked.
“I want to make sure Smokey is my dad. Then if he is and wants me here, then sure. I only have my step dad in Cali.” Adriana explained.
“Well mom, dads, me and Mav are going apartment hunting.” Hanna replied.
“Ok Hanna, but I want you sleeping here.” Sam demanded.
“I’m staying with Mav. I already told you that.” Hanna replied.
“What the hell, he can stay here too.” Sam replied.
“In my room?” Hanna questioned.
“Absolutely not.” Sam retorted.
“Then no. Mav’s room at the Clubhouse will be fine!” Hanna replied.
“Fine! Your room but I better not hear anything!” Sam retorted.
“Got it mom. Come on Mav, Let’s go.” Hanna replied.
“Heading out too.” Brady replied.
Sam, Smokey, and Snake talk with her after everyone left. They took the paternity test and it came back that Smokey was indeed her father. Hanna and Maverick found an apartment. It was a small one bedroom, but it was in a good neighborhood and one they could afford.
There moms had a house warming party at the clubhouse for them. And the club helped them get moved in. Smokey asked Kim to give Adriana a job in her shop doing odd jobs. Hanna hated it and threw a fit. She felt she was trying to take over her life.
“Hey baby, what’s got you in a mood?” Maverick asked.
“Adriana!” Hanna grimaced.
“Why?” He asked.
“First she moved into my house. Then every time I go to the clubhouse she’s there. Now she got a job at Kim’s salon! Something really eats at me with her. I dunno what, but it does!” Hanna explained.
“Jealousy?” Maverick asked.
“Get real! Me? Jealous? Of what? She’s the one trying to be me!” Hanna argued.
“You’re not the only daddy’s girl anymore.” Maverick replied.
“Oh, don’t EVEN get me started on that! I may just punch you!” Hanna retorted.
“What now?” Maverick asked.
“Twice I’ve asked dad to eat after school. And both times he blew me off because he had plans with her!” Hanna mimicked.
“Hanna, you’ve had him for 18 years. She’s had him for three weeks.” Maverick explained.
“Oh, I see. It’s totally fine to completely ignore me like I don’t exist. Good to know!” Hanna raised her voice. “You know when I got with you, I didn’t ignore him!”
“That’s not what I meant. Have you at least told him how you feel?” Maverick asked.
“How can I? No time for me remember? And there’s more! I saw her putting her hand down Brady’s pants and rubbing against him. I about puked! When he saw me, he shoved her away.” Hanna huffed.
“Then she looked at me and grinned! Grinned as if she’d planned it which I don’t doubt.” Hanna retorted.
“Wow! I mean I know he’s not her brother but man that’s still twisted.” Maverick shivered at the thought.
“At the clubhouse I saw her kissing Blake and Levi. Now Jessi and her are big buddies. Jessi said she’s slept with half of the single brothers. Guess it’s true, like mother like daughter.” Hanna retorted.
“Baby if it’s bothering you this much you need to talk to your dad.” Maverick suggested.
Hanna picked up her cell and called her dad. “Hey honey is something wrong?” Smokey asked.
“Since when does there have to be something wrong for me to call you?” Hanna asked. “I mean is that what you’re saying I should only call if there’s something wrong?”
“Well no. But I just, well you just haven’t called in a while.” Smokey explained.
“I’m surprised you noticed.” Hanna retorted.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Smokey asked.
“I don’t want you to do this over the phone. Are you and mom free to come over?” Hanna asked.
“Yeah, when?” Smokey asked.
“How about tonight at our apartment?” Hanna asked.
“Honey why not here where we all are?” He asked.
“Because that’s the problem we need to discuss!” Hanna retorted.
“I don’t understand.” Smokey responded.
“That’s a part of the problem. Look can you drag yourself away from your new daughter who’s only one that exists to you now to come see the one who used to or not?” Hanna demanded.
“Hanna that’s not.” Smokey started to say but Hanna spoke up.
“Look are you coming or not?” Hanna demanded again.
“Yes honey, give us an hour.” Smokey responded.
After they hung up, Maverick wrapped Hannah in a tight hug. “Now think carefully about what you need to say before they get here. Think it through and get it all out there.”
“Should I tell him about the guys and Jessica?” Hanna asked.
“I guess whatever you feel you need to tell him. Put it all out there now.” Maverick replied.
Sam and Smokey arrived at their apartment. They all sat in the living room to talk.
“Ok, I asked you here to tell you how I’ve been feeling lately. Dad, I feel like I don’t even exist to you anymore! We used to go for ice cream or snacks at least twice a week to have me and you time to talk. It’s time I cherished just having you around. Do you know mom and Lucas have been over here three times to eat dinner and see our apartment? And do you know this is the first time you’ve been here? And I had to practically beg you to come. I’ve even lost your school support!” Hanna explained.
“Honey of course you still exist! Still matter to me as much as ever. I’m just trying to get to know my other daughter too.” Smokey replied. “I missed 20 years of her life.”
“But in doing so you’re totally ignoring me! This is my last year of school, my last games! How many of my games did you miss before she showed up? None! How many have you missed she came here? Every single one!” Hanna replied.
“What about our weekly talks about what’s going on and what we hope for the future? It’s been before she came since our last! I’m not saying you can’t get to know her but do you have to completely ignore me to do it?” Hanna asked.
“Did you know I was nominated for home coming queen? Nope guess not! Do you know how much it hurt with all the parents there supporting their daughters but mine was MIA? Thankfully my other dad came through for me!” Hanna cried. “But that is something that me and you will never share, something we can never get back!”
