Chapter 89 Damsel in Distress

Chapter 89 Damsel in Distress

December 19th

Leo's point of view:

"Oh shit," I said after getting off the phone with my sister. "My Luna has gone into early labour."

"How inconvenient," Luciano said in a bored tone as he threw a ball at the wall and caught it again for

the hundredth time.

We were stood in the prison in which we kept Hestia, the wife of the man who was supposed to be

finding out the name of the Rogue leader. We'd been there waiting all day, practically shrivelling up and

dying of boredom. Of course, Luciano had suggested I let him entertain himself with the poor human

woman imprisoned in the next room but he was still under strict orders not to lay a finger on her. (much

to his annoyance)

"I have to go," I announced.

"But there's still 4 hours and 45 minutes before Achilles has to be here with your information."

"You're a big boy now," I said grabbing my keys. "I'm sure you can handle this alone. If he doesn't

return, give him a ring and make sure he hears his wife's cries. A damsel in distress normally brings

them running back but if it doesn't send a patrol out and hunt him down."

"And what if he does come back?"

"If he is on time and has succeeded then let them both go unscathed. If he is late or doesn't have what

I want to know then chain him up."

"What about the girl?" He asked referring to Hestia.

"Well luckily for her, my son has chosen today to be born so if her husband does fail me, her miserable

existence will get an extension until I return."

"Can't I just kill her when the timer is up and be done with it?" Luciano questioned.

"No."

"Why not?" he questioned.

"Because I have told you at least six times now that you will not touch her or there will be

consequences. Understand?" I growled before grabbing my car keys and putting in the code for the exit

door of the prison.

"Sure whatever," he replied rolling his eyes. "I guess now I'm meant to say 'good luck with your kid' or

something," he added like he had never cared about anything less in his entire twenty-two and a half

years of life.

"Very heartfelt. Thanks. I bet your mate can't wait to meet you," I replied.

"So long as she is a stone-cold bitch we'll have no trouble getting along," he replied throwing the ball at

the wall once again.

"Opposites attract, Luciano. Opposites attract," I warned him before leaving him and Hestia pretty

much alone in the building minus a few guards and the odd prisoner. © 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.

I made my way through the cold December air to my car, where I didn't hesitate to begin my long

journey to the hospital where my Luna was due to give birth tonight.

It was a lawful six-hour drive but I can make it in three if I put my foot down on the accelerator.
