When Nelly awoke the next morning, it was already ten o’clock in the morning, the sun high in the sky. She had slept so soundly that she could not even remember how she had returned to her room after the wild night she had. But as she moved to stretch, a sliver of light revealed the slightly ajar door to her room. Donna, a mischievous grin on her face, peeked inside.
“Come in,” Nelly lazily beckoned when she spotted the young girl. Donna eagerly pushed open the door and entered the room. “Nelly, you’re awake?” she asked, her grin widening.
Nelly, still groggy, turned to face her with a raised eyebrow. “Yes,” she replied, wondering why Donna seemed so excited.
Donna walked over to her, unable to contain her happiness. “How much did you drink last night, Nelly?” she asked, her playful tone unnerving Nelly.
Narrowing her eyes, Nelly responded, “What’s it to you?”
“Do you even remember how you got home last night?” Donna continued, her gaze fixed on Nelly.
Furrowing her eyebrows, Nelly’s mind struggled to recall the events of the previous night. Images of the wine cellar and Alpha Kilian flashed through her mind, causing her face to turn red with embarrassment.
“You forgot, didn’t you?” Donna taunted with a mischievous grin. “Did your father send me home?”
Nelly looked at her with confusion, her memory failing her.
Donna nodded, her words filled with excitement. “Yes. He even carried you into the house. How romantic!”
“Romantic?” Nelly questioned, her mind still trying to piece together the events of the night.
“Yeah. I was with Tony and Thalia on the balcony upstairs. We could see from afar that Daddy was carrying you. You two even…” Donna trailed off, her expression hinting at something more.
Nelly stared at her in disbelief, unable to comprehend what Donna was implying. She truly had no recollection of what had transpired.
“Nelly, it was such a public display of affection. Although there weren’t many people around, and probably no one saw it, it was the first time I’ve ever seen you so unrestrained,” Donna teasingly remarked.
“I… I drank too much yesterday. I can’t remember,” Nelly confessed, her voice laced with frustration.
“Are you trying to avoid taking responsibility?” Donna teased, her tone mischievous. “Is that why you’re claiming you were drunk?”
Confused, Nelly asked, “What responsibility?”
“You’ve already kissed Daddy. Aren’t you going to take responsibility for your actions?” Donna prodded further. “I… He didn’t suffer any loss, did he? Moreover, it may not be me who initiated it.”
Donna nodded, understanding Nelly’s reasoning. She then turned her gaze towards Nelly’s father. “So, are you saying that you want Daddy to take responsibility for his actions, Nelly?”
Caught off guard, Nelly was momentarily at a loss for words. “I don’t need him to,” she finally exclaimed.
“Why not?” Donna pressed.
“Taking responsibility is a serious matter. We have to give it some serious consideration,” Nelly reasoned, trying to make sense of the situation.
Donna smirked, amused by Nelly’s excuses. “Wow, Nelly, you’re getting better at making excuses,” she remarked.
Snapping back, Nelly retorted, “I could say the same thing about how nosy you are.”
The young girl smiled sheepishly. “I’ve noticed how much Daddy yearns for you, so I’m just helping him out.”
Nelly playfully poked Donna’s forehead. “Little brat, how could you side with an outsider?”
Donna smirked, her confidence evident. “If you get together with Daddy, then he will no longer be an outsider to me, and I won’t be at fault for siding with him. Am I right?”
Nelly considered Donna’s words, realizing the thought she had put into it. “You’ve certainly given it a lot of thought.”
“But are you willing to accept Daddy?” Donna asked hopefully.
Nelly hesitated, unsure of her own feelings. “Hold your tongue,” she finally replied.
Donna stuck out her tongue in response.
Stretching lazily, Nelly tried to change the subject. “Did you come here just to gossip about this?”
Donna shook her head. “Not at all. I’m here to ask for your permission, Nelly.”Content is © by NôvelDrama.Org.
Curious, Nelly inquired, “Permission for what?”
“Thalia wants to bring the three of us out tonight. Can we go?” Donna asked, excitement evident in her voice.
Pausing for a moment, Nelly considered the request. She looked into Donna’s innocent eyes and then nodded. “Yes, you can. But remember to inform your grandfather and great-grandfather, so they don’t worry.”
Donna grinned, grateful for the permission. “Got it!”
Nelly reminded her, “And remember to take care of your safety, no matter what.”
Donna’s smile widened. “I know! I’ll go and tell Tony and Ben now.”
“Okay,” Nelly replied, watching Donna leave with a mix of pride and concern.
