Chapter 68 Misfortunes Never Come Alone
Chapter 68 Misfortunes Never Come Alone
May Shen seemed startled, but she tried to calm herself down. How could Charles Mu know anything
about what had happened? He was just a child back then. It was impossible that anyone should know
what exactly happened.
Besides, everyone lived for themselves. May Shen didn't think she did anything wrong.
"I don't know what you are talking about."
"Are you sure? Try and think again, May Shen." Charles Mu slightly raised his eyebrows, and his jet-
black eyes were fixed on May Shen, who kept avoiding his fierce stare.
"Think about what? What about the car I demanded? Do you have it prepared? Or would you like to
see your fiancee killed?"
May Shen was obviously getting flustered as time went by. And the more she got frightened, the closer
she put the shard to Linda's neck.
"May? What did he mean? What on earth did you do?" asked Johnson Xia in a frown.
"What's it to you? Johnson Xia, I'm done with you today!"
No matter how much May Shen hated Johnson Xia, they had been married for all these years. And part
of her deep down still felt sorry that they had to end it in this way.
But she was determined.
"May!"
Johnson Xia frowned and called her again. Linda felt sorry to see the bewilderment and hesitancy in his
face.
"Done? After spending years transferring all the stocks and working capital owned by Lord Xia, and
now you are done with him? Truly impressive." There was still not a trace of emotion to be found on
Charles Mu's handsome face. And May Shen wouldn't even dare look up at his cold black eyes.
"What? May? Is it true? asked Johnson Xia in shock.
Through all these years, Johnson Xia had always believed he was the one to blame. Even though May
Shen hooked up with another man, part of Johnson Xia still felt that was his fault, for he was the one
who failed her first and let her spend five whole desperate years waiting for him.
Besides, Johnson Xia was six years older than May Shen. He was in his fifties, whereas May Shen was
in her forties, an age which marked the peak of a woman's sexual desire.
"Truth or not, what difference does it make? Johnson Xia, you owe me! You owe this to me and Lisa! I
don't want to do this neither , but you brought back that daughter you had with that slut. What else do
you expect? I have to do this."
"What do I owe to you and Lisa? May, didn't Lisa get the best of everything growing up? I gave her
whatever she wanted. As for you, I know I had let you down for those five years, but isn't it enough that
I pay you back with the past twenty years? May, is there really no love but hatred for me in your heart?"
Johnson Xia never felt more frustrated. He had always doted on Lisa and gave her the best he could
afford.
Linda was his own daughter as well. Though Johnson Xia brought Linda back to the Xia clan, he did
nothing more than greetings and giving her several houses as compensation. He wasn't even there to
look after Linda when she was a child. Indeed, they hadn't had enough proper conversations since she
was back.
"That's enough, Johnson Xia. We both know it. Do you get everything that I demand, Charles Mu?"
"I do."
"Where?"
With a glint of cleverness in her eyes, Linda lowered her head and let out a sneer, "We have it
prepared, but we never plan to give it to you..."
Then Linda slightly raised her left hand while triggering the dragon ring with her right hand. A steel ball
was immediately shot from the ring and into the wrist of May Shen.
The sudden pain rendered May Shen's wrist numb and consequently she dropped the shard to the
floor and broke it in two.
Right when Linda broke free from May Shen's grip, Bun dashed forward and grabbed May Shen's
shoulder and then turned it inward.
Then Bun kicked May Shen on her shank to force her to kneel down, and then she shouted, "Stay still if
you don't want me to break your bones."
Linda then went back to Charles Mu, who anxiously pulled her aside and double-checked her to make
sure she was completely unharmed.
Linda was speechless. He was there with her and saw everything, and how could he not know whether
she was hurt or not.
"Take her to the living room, " said Charles Mu calmly. And then he walked toward the living room.
Noticing that Johnson Xia was pale and breathless, Linda then said, "Paul, would you help my father?"
"Yes, My Lady."
In the living room of the Xia clan.
After a long while of silence.
"May, let's talk about this. We are man and wife after all, just let me know if you are still holding a
grudge against me."
It seemed like that the series of unexpected turns suddenly aged Johnson Xia, and there was more
grey hair to be seen on his head.
"I have nothing to talk to you. But since we are man and wife, as you said, will you let me and Lisa
leave here?"
Johnson Xia said nothing.
He took a deep sigh and then turned to Charles Mu with a mixed feeling in his eyes, "Perhaps we
should end this marriage and part on good terms. What do you say, Young Master Mu?"
Johnson Xia felt his heart was aching while he said those words.
He met the 15-year-old May Shen when he was 21, and they soon fell in love. It had been almost 30
years since then. Johnson Xia had never thought that someday they would come to this end.
Charles Mu glanced at May Shen and then turned back to Johnson Xia, "Lord Xia, don't rush into any
decision yet. I have something else to show you."
"What is it?"
"Paul, " called Charles Mu in his deep voice.
Paul then took two files out of the folder he carried and handed them over to Johnson Xia.
"Lord Xia, this is the DNA test report of you wife May Shen and your butler Vincent Zhou. According to
the marker analysis, Vincent Zhou and May Shen are related by blood."
Linda was stunned as well. She then whispered to Charles Mu, "Why didn't you tell me this before?"
All Linda knew was that May Shen was cheating behind Johnson Xia's back, but she knew nothing
about May Shen being related to Vincent Zhou.
And according to what Paul just said, it was highly impossible that Lisa Xia was Johnson Xia's own
blood. Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
"I told you, leave these dirty works to me." Charles Mu didn't turn around, and his face remained calm
and cold. He was always like this in front of people. But Linda still felt touched by his thoughtfulness.
Johnson Xia was obviously in shock. His hands were shaking when he held the reports. And every
word on the paper was like a knife stabbing into his heart.
"... "May... You..."
"Yes, he's right. Vincent is my son. My son with your former butler Frank Zhou! !" Did you have any idea
who was looking after me during those five years? And did you know how many times I came here for
you and then was kicked out by your father?"
May Shen would never forget that stormy night when she came to find Johnson Xia and was pushed
out of the Xia clan once again. She collapsed onto the ground, and almost cried her eyes out in the
pouring rain.
It was Frank Zhou who came over with an umbrella. He carried May Shen up and took her home. He
took good care of May Shen who had caught a cold in that rainy night, and then told her that Johnson
Xia was engaged to the lady of the Nalan clan.
Paul looked coldly at May Shen. And when she had done talking, Paul passed another file to Johnson
Xia, "Lord Xia, this is the DNA test report of you and your daughter Lisa Xia. And the test result shows
that you are not the biological father of Lisa Xia."
