In that instart two figures sprang into action almost at the same time. Hørsel, being closer and quicker then Sam, yanked Miranda out of harm’s way just in time. But he left the back of his neck vulnerable to the snake in the process

“Watch out!

“Be carefull

Miranda and Ingrid shouted simultaneously.

Miranda was now cradled in Hansel’s arms. Meanwhile, Ingrid rushed forward, placing herself between Hansel and the snake.

The snake struck its fangs digging into Ingrid’s calf. She screamed in agony before collapsing to the ground in a limp heap.

Hansel was in shock. He pushed Miranda out of the way and hurried to check the wound on Ingrid’s calf. It was definitely a venomous snake

bite.

“Dear…” Ingrid’s eyes filled with tears, “It hurts so badly…”

Hansel gritted his teeth and pulled her into his arms. “Why did you do something so reckless?”

Ingrid, drenched in sweat from the pain, forced a faint smile. “I’m just glad you’re okay…”

Hansel pursed his lips and tightened his grip on her hand, his voice. thick with emotion. “Don’t worry, the doctor will be here any minute now. I’m not letting anything happen to you.”

Ingrid’s eyes were starting to lose focus, her voice barely audible. “I know. I’ve always trusted you. Don’t worry about me too much. I’ll be alright for your sa-”

She passed out before she could finish her sentence.

Panic gripped Hansel as he saw her unconscious in his arms. He yelled, “Doctor! Where’s the doctor? Someone call an ambulance! Help!”

The medical staff finally arrived after a long wait. They lowered the stretcher and lifted Ingrid into the helicopter. The only place with the antivenom was Malenor’s hospital. Hansel climbed aboard the helicopter with them without hesitation.

Winter rolled her eyes at the scene. “Does she really think she’s in some sort of tragic soap opera? Only a fool like Hansel would buy into it.”

She cast a sideways glance at Miranda, who stood there, staring blankly at where the helicopter had vanished. Her lashes quivered before she lowered her eyes to hide her disappointment and heartache.

Despite claiming she didn’t care, Miranda’s old feelings for Hansel. made it difficult to stay indifferent. She noticed everything–his anxiety, panic, sympathy, concern, and a whirlwind of other emotions.

“Mimi?” Winter wrapped an arm around her shoulders, her face etched with concern. “Are you alright? Did that scare you?”

Miranda snapped out of her thoughts and gently shook her head, “I’m fine.”

Winter seemed to pick up on something, and a trace of worry flickered across her face.

Miranda attempted a smile, but it remained stiff and forced despite her efforts. After a long silence, she finally said, “Winter, let’s head back.” “Alright.”

“Don’t worry, I’m fine.” Miranda reassured her, quickly regaining her composure.

“I was just thinking that what he did is great,” she said, pausing before murmuring, “He’s better now than he was before.”

Miranda hoped Hansel had truly found someone to love and cherish this time around.

Meanwhile, Sam had been watching the whole thing from the sidelines, grinning so widely it looked like his smile might split his face.

From that moment on, Hansel was officially out of the running.
