Chapter 264
As the days flew by, we were now just 24 hours away from the big day.
That afternoon, everyone gathered at the Cooper mansion.
“Are we having the bachelor party here?” Caroline asked as she got out of the car with her husband’s help.
“Looks like it,” Christian replied.
“Welcome!” Samantha greeted them, “Wow, how far along are you?” she asked, noticing Caroline’s round belly.
“In a few days, I’ll be six months along.” Caroline said happily, stroking her stomach.
“Congratulations to both of you,” Eric said.
“Thanks! And soon, James will have a buddy to race around this beautiful garden with,” Christian added.
“You bet,” Jayden said, walking over to greet the couple.
Just then, a car pulled up to the house.
“Hi, everyone!” Elliot called out as he got out of his car
“Good afternoon,” George said.
“Hello, everyone, and welcome,” Deborah said, stepping out to greet the guests while carrying James.
“Well, we’re all here, daughter,” Nicholas said.
“Are we going somewhere from here?” Christian asked.
“Right, and where are those girls who are supposed to dance for us?” Nicholas added.
“Dad…” Elliot said, blushing.
“I agree, where are the lovely ladies who’ll make me feel young again?” Nicholas asked, looking around.
“Well, there won’t be any of those girls at this house,” Samantha said, frowning and crossing her arms.
“Boo…” the older folks groaned.
“I know, I’m in trouble,” Eric pouted, but he got a playful smack from his wife.
“And there won’t be any dancers either,” Jayden said.
“Boo.” Caroline complained.
“So why are we here?” Elliot asked.
“Let’s just say it will be something more special,” Deborah said with a sidelong smile, leaving everyone confused.
At that moment, David arrived in a large truck with nine assistants, each carrying a small box of a specific color.
“Good evening, everyone,” David greeted.
James got excited upon seeing the colorful boxes.
“What’s this?” Caroline asked as she received a box from the assistants and saw the others getting theirs
too.
“Well, this is part of the surprise,” David said, winking as his assistants began unloading the rest of the items from the truck. “As you’ve noticed, we won’t have the usual exotic dancers or liquor,” he said, glancing at the disappointed faces of the older guests. “Instead, we’ll have a fun treasure hunt game.” NôvelDrama.Org content.
“Ooh… that sounds promising.” Christian commented.
“Hmm, if it’s a game, I assume there will be a prize,” George said.
“That’s right, and the boxes I just gave you are part of the game’s start,” David explained.
Some people started shaking their boxes, trying to guess what was inside.
“This will be a treasure hunt where your mental agility and problem–solving skills will be tested,” David said, winking. “So go ahead and open your boxes.”
Everyone opened their boxes to find a ribbon of a certain color and a sheet of paper with a specific, location in the house written on it.
While they examined their maps, David’s assistants brought a large box into the garden.

“My assistants are getting everything set up now. You’ll need to find them following the clues on your maps,” David explained. “You’ll notice each of you has a different color ribbon, and I ask you to wear your right arm, as that will be your identifier from now on.”
“But that’s not fair. Some people will have an advantage with these maps because they live here,” Christian pointed out.
“Well, love, the map seems easy to understand,” Caroline said.
“Shh… the idea is to see if we can get any advantage,” Jayden said, causing the others to laugh.
“And what’s the prize?” Elliot asked, clearly excited.
“The prize will be a surprise,” David said, showing a large box wrapped in iridescent paper.
“A mysterious box, huh? Well, if you put it that way, it definitely makes me want to play,” Eric said.
“Haha…” James was excitedly playing with the lid of his mom’s box.
“To make the game even better, everyone will have a help card, where someone will come to assist you with a hint if you fail to answer correctly after three tries,” David added.
“And who will help us?” Nicholas asked.
David smiled and pointed to Deborah. “Not me, but little James will be everyone’s wildcard,” he announced.
James noticed everyone looking at him and giggled.
“That sounds good. He’s a special help with no favoritism,” Samantha said.
“I think it’s fair, James will just give hints without saying anything more,” Caroline agreed.
“Your maps will lead you to various points where you’ll face a series of challenges or riddles. Solve each one to earn a badge and a new location,” David explained, showing a pin with a smiley face. “The first person to collect nine badges will win the mysterious box.”
“What’s the time limit?” Nicholas asked, glancing at the clock which read 5 PM.
“You have two hours to complete the game,” David said. “After that time, if no one has all the badges, the winner will be the one with the most.”
With that
that, everyone excitedly adjusted their ribbons.
“Behave yourself, my love,” Deborah said, settling James into his stroller since he’d stay in the center of the area while she participated in the game.
“Ah…ah…” James waved his hands excitedly.
“On your marks… get set… Go!” David shouted, ringing a bell to start the game as everyone dashed off following their maps. “In the meantime, help me set up everything we brought for dinner,” he said to the butler who had stayed behind to look after the baby.
