The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet

Chapter 2043

"Mmm, I'm heading back to Hollowbrook to grab my birth certificate. In a couple of days, Lysander and I are going to tie the knot," Thalassa said. As she spoke, she glanced out the car window. During the half-hour chat with Hertha, they had hit the highway.

"Right, right. Get that birth certificate and make it official with Lysander soon. Drive safe, huh? Tell the driver to take it easy. No rush; safety first," Hertha advised.

"Got it."

After exchanging a few more pleasantries, they ended the call.

Thalassa returned to Hollowbrook, now in the full bloom of spring. The fields were a golden sea of canola flowers, stretching as far as the eye could see. A breeze carried the sweet fragrance, intoxicating and delightful.

Living in the city had its perks, but returning to her hometown was truly refreshing. Surrounded by nature's beauty and engulfed in fresh air, even her fatigue seemed to be swept away by the spring breeze.

Thalassa arrived at her small cottage. Ever since Lysander had their villa rebuilt after it was destroyed, Thalassa had made sure her aunt had a place to stay by constructing a small bungalow on the original site.

For the past three years, her aunt had been living in this modest bungalow, where Thalassa's birth certificate was also kept.

Thalassa took out her keys, opened the door, and was greeted by a musty smell. The house felt neglected, a clear sign it needed a resident's touch to fend off the mold.

She headed straight for her aunt's room.

Finding the birth certificate in a drawer, she was about to leave when she heard a familiar, surprised voice at the door: "Thalassa, is it really you?" Turning around, Thalassa saw a tall, slender woman at the doorway-Lydia.

A smile broke on Thalassa's face as she held the birth certificate, "Lydia, weren't you in Starhaven?"

"My grandma's knee was giving her hell, so I came back yesterday to give her acupuncture," Lydia explained. This content is © NôvelDrama.Org.

She had promised Thalassa she

would learn medicine from Dr. Funke to treat her grandma's condition. Now that her grandma was suffering again, Lydia didn't hesitate to come back and offer treatment.

"I saw your door was open and got curious. Thought I might catch a burglar and give them a good whooping, but it turns out it's you," Lydia explained her presence.

Thalassa expressed her gratitude, "Thanks for looking out for us. Though, there's hardly anything worth stealing here."

After a brief catch-up, Thalassa asked, "When are you heading back to Starhaven?"

"Probably in a half-month. Acupuncture isn't a one-time fix. A full course takes about a week," Lydia responded.

Noticing Thalassa's gaze drifting to the birth certificate in her hand, Lydia quickly understood, "Oh, I see You've got some big plans. Well, won't keep you. You and Mr. Sinclair better hurry up and get married. I expect an invite to the wedding."

Lydia clapped Thalassa on the shoulder with her typical hearty demeanor, causing Thalassa to blush slightly, "The wedding can wait till after Lysander and I have made it official."

Hertha and Alaric had already eloped, and she and Lysander couldn't lag behind.

"Ha, what a joke. Dreaming of tying the knot with Lysander? Seems like you haven't woken up from your fantasy," a mocking, sharp voice suddenly interrupted from the doorway.

Thalassa and Lydia turned to see a fashionably dressed woman with heavy makeup swaggering in.

Seeing the newcomer, Thalassa's brows furrowed instantly, "Isabella, long time no see. Still as flashy as ever."
