He finally came.
Kneeling on the ground, Hailey clasped her blood–stained hands in desperate prayer. The wound on her back had become infected. It was a mess of blood and raw flesh. “Andy, please, let me see my mom. I’ll do anything you ask.” Text © by N0ve/lDrama.Org.
Anderson’s gaze at her was devoid of any compassion. “Do you think you can bargain with me?” His tone was as icy as his demeanor.
Hailey looked up at him. At that moment, a realization dawned on her. “Was it you?” She was in disbelief. She couldn’t believe he would go so far.
“Was it you who sabotaged my dad’s company and drove my mom insane? Why … Why? You didn’t even properly investigate what happened back then.
“And you concluded that my mom killed the Manchester family based solely on that person’s word? Do whatever you want to me! Why did you have to hurt
them?”
Anderson loomed over her. “Sending that man to prison was just the beginning. “Suddenly, he leaned down and gripped her chin. “The moment he decided to abandon his wife and child, he lost any right to my forgiveness.
“Hailey, do you really think your life holds any value to me? Let alone Renee’s
life?”
Back then, Howard abandoned his family. And now, he was sent to prison by his own son. The family he once wanted was shattered beyond repair.
Hailey was too weak to even plead anymore.
Just then, a maid heard the commotion from the warehouse. She thought Hailey had escaped.
When she approached and saw Anderson holding Hailey, she was alarmed. “M- Mr. Anderson, this isn’t right… If Madam Sonia finds out…”
The maid was instantly silenced by Anderson’s icy glare.
It didn’t take long for news of Anderson taking Hailey to reach Sonia’s ears. She was furious. “He’s lost his mind! Doesn’t he know who Hailey is? How
could he take her with him with so many people watching? What would Isabel think?
“I finally convinced Isabel to come back, and now he’s ruined everything. Why can’t he just let me have some peace?”
Caroline tried to comfort her. “Madam Sonia, they said she was close to dying. Mr. Anderson was just worried about causing a scene.”
“Worried? Him? What does he have to worry about? The only thing he worries about is the people outside.”
Isabel overheard the conversation from the stairs but didn’t come down. She quietly turned back to her room.
Outside, the sky was foggy. The sun was about to rise. The rain had stopped, but the weather was gloomy. Thick clouds hung low, making the air feel heavy and oppressive.
Mayra was woken up by a maid. It was already morning, but she hadn’t
finished her homework from the previous night.
She plugged in her phone and saw that the call had been disconnected at 5:30 am, when her battery died.
When her phone was fully charged, she limped down the stairs. Her forehead bore a visible bruise, partially hidden by her hair.
“Helen, what’s for breakfast? By the way, did Andy come back last night?”
The other maids exchanged surprised glances as Mayra usually kept her distance from them.
