Chapter 15 The Night is Long
In a flash, she was pinned down on the couch by Alan.
Alan’s sharp vision seemed to penetrate her heart: “Why do you want to be with Kevin? Is your intention to provoke our relationship, or do you want to humiliate me? Or, do you hate Diana and deliberately use this to get back at her?”
A pair of Lexie’s wrists were held down by him with a deadly pressure, unable to move.
She panicked, what did he want!
Alan’s thumb rubbed her eyebrows lightly, “What a clear and beautiful pair of eyes, but unfortunately tainted with unintentional purposes, and unscrupulous filth, the daughter of the the Mitchell family, how can there be any pure daughter?”
There was a surprisingly strange hint of hatred revealed in his tone.
Hatred?
Lexie didn’t understand where he got the hate.
She tried to break away from him hard, her mouth kept opening and closing: [Let go of me … Let go of me …]
But he was forceful, making Lexie feel the pain, thinking of the trepidation in the Howard family for days, and now she was still slapped with this bad reputation, all the aggression ran up in her mind.
In the middle of the struggle, a hospital case record dropped out of her pocket, a history of her grandma’s illness.
Alan picked it up and looked at it, and his expression was stunned.
She wasn’t lying.
He looked down at the woman beneath him, who had long since burst into tears.
It was the first time she had ever shed a tear in front of him.
She didn’t cry out as tears silently trickled down the corners of her eyes.
Somehow, his original anger dissipated.
“I will let you off the hook this time, and if I ever see you get overly close to Kevin in the future, I’ll lock you up.”
The last three words made Lexie’s body tremble.
Only after he left did Lexie shakily pick up the case record and put it away.
Finally, she closed her eyes fiercely, a slightly hoarse cry escaping from her throat, if she wasn’t unable to help herself, she really wanted to leave this place, far away and never want to see Alan!
Early the next morning.
Lexie woke up with two swollen eyes.
After last night, she deliberately avoided meeting up with Alan, pretending as if she couldn’t see him every time she had no choice but to encounter him.
Even to avoid suspicion, she waited for Kevin to leave before going downstairs.
The lost look of Kevin was seen in Diana’s eyes, and her heart was even angrier. Diana came straight to Lexie and warned, “No matter what your purpose is, don’t go near my son in the future, do you hear me?”
Lexie had no intention of arguing with her and nodded before she walked away.
Diana shouted coldly, “Stop right there!”
Lexie stood in place, her back to her, listening to Diana sneer behind her, “If you dare to have improper dirty thoughts, I will make your life worse than death.”
She turned around and looked at Diana, explaining with a pen and paper, [My encounter with Dr. Stewart was just by chance, there is no purpose as you think, I won’t talk to him again in the future and will avoid him far away.]
After watching her write down her promise, Diana’s face eased up a bit, “No matter if what you said is true or not, in any case, if you dare to go against today’s words, I will let you know the consequence!”
Lexie put the pen and paper away and left, drenched in exhaustion.
After she left, Marry came up to Diana and said, “Madam, I don’t think what she said is credible.”
Diana raised an eyebrow, “How so?”
Marry had a deep face, “Mr. Alan likes Miss Edith, sooner or later he will have to divorce Lexie, Lexie probably also expected this, that’s why she put her attention on Mr. Kevin, in an attempt to use him to gain power and wealth, so the guarantee she wrote today is just to fool you.”© 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
When Diana heard that, her face sank, “Then what do you say, how am I going to deal with her?”
Marry thought about it and spoke, “I think there are two points, first, stop Mr. Kevin from meeting her, second, let Miss Edith squeeze Lexie out as soon as possible, so that this scourge will have no way to continue to stay in the Howard family if not … ”
Diana fell into a deep thought after hearing these words.
After a long time, she dialed Edith’s number.
