so no more stalling.”
Julen nodded. “Great. You’re getting engaged at the end of the month. I’ve already picked out a date for you, so no more
Josepped incredulous, wondering why he was so anxious to marry her off. She nearly blackmailed him, too. “Don’t forget I know who you’ve been texting on Instagram, Juben Better be nice to or I’ll at you out.”
Shelmine did not want to see Julien for a while, and so she stayed away from him. It remained this way until she received an invitation from him to attend Josie’s engagement party. Her name had been written on the card, too.
On the night before the engagement party, Shelmaine picked out her clothes. Josie was the star of the show, and far be it from Shelmaine to steal the spotlight by dressing too over -the–top
As such, she selected a semi–casual outfit for the party. She had curled ber hair, too
Julien was waiting downstairs when Shelmaine came out of the lobby. It had been a while since they last saw each other, and he couldn’t help pointing out dejectedly, “I can’t believe you refused to see me. I know you said you wouldn’t, but I didn’t think you were serious.”
shelmaine gored him and made her way to her car. She did not plan on commuting to the party with him,
Jullen quickly grabbed her by the wrist and said, “I’m sorry for what I said the other night. I shouldn’t have made these jokes.”
After that night, he had sought our Sonia’s skills in fortune reading, only for her to declare that his love lite might be blundered. When he told her to read his fortune again, she seid it was against the code of conduct to answer the same question twice on the same day.
She didn’t have time for more fortune reading after that, though what she inferred had left Julien feeling restless and uneasy
Shelmaine said, “You don’t have to apologize to me. You didn’t do anything wrong, and you’re a good person. I just don’t want to make the same mistakes again.”
Julien said, “You have to believe me. I meant every word I said ”
Shemaine did believe him, and she couldn’t bring herself to be so wicked to him when he had been nothing but kind to her. Her guilt worsened. She had never done a bad thing in her entire life, not even pley hooky
The only time she had been heartless was when she was dealing with Andrew, but she couldn’t be harsh and cruel about anything else, especially when it came to Julien.
He was good and honest, which only made her look more like a villain. She didn’t want to keep this up any longer.
Josie knew who Shemaine was when the latter showed up at the engagement party. She also mew Julen had a huge crush on Shelmaine. As such, she rushed up to her enthusiastically and took pictures with her.
She then introduced Shellmaine to her bridal party and close relatives, including her parents:
Julien and Josie’s parents did not know who shelmaine was as they did not follow the former on instagram. Josie kept from spilling the secret, too. As such, they believed shelmaine was a friend of the bride and made pleasant small talk with her.
Shelmaine could tell the Gallaghers had a warm and empathetic side to them that set them apart from the likes of Samuel’s mother. No wonder Julien had felt safe enough to make decisions for himself and tell his parents about it.
Shelmaine sighed. None of this mattered. Her priority now was to
now was to stop stringing Julien along, even if she had to find an alternative way to do it.
The gut she felt after spending so much time with pullen was eating her up
Unexpectedly, she was asked to join the Gallaghers at the main table up front. She was also given the seat next to Julien.
She didn’t have to be a genius to know who did this
Julien’s parents were still ushering in guests. As Shelmaine glanced at the placement card and made to take it, Julien spoke up behind her. “I think they made a mistake. Sorry.” Shelmaine turned to meet his gaze and said, “I should be the one apologizing.”
“This has nothing to do with you. Josler found out through her sleathing that you were the lady I’ve been posting about on my Instagram and decided to put you at the dining table with us,” he explained dryly.
Shelmaine saw the hurt flickering across Julien’s face.
