Chapter 150

I was frozen with fear, my eyes fixed on Aston. I didn’t dare look back, but the sound of blood splattering against the wall and a loud thud told me that whoever was hit was in bad shape. My mind was racing with wild thoughts, trying to make sense of what had just happened.

Aston’s voice snapped me out of my trance. “How long have you been standing out here? Come with me.” He grabbed my arm and dragged me into his room, locking the door behind us for the first time, I didn’t feel a flutter in my chest at the sound of the lock clicking into place with the two of us behind the door. I was too scared, too confused.

“What’s going on?” I asked, trying to keep my voice steady. But Aston didn’t seem to hear me. He was pacing back and forth. I tried again, louder this time. “What’s going on?”

Again, he ignored me. “You’re going to stick with me from now on. I don’t want you out of my sight, not even to take a pi***.” He said it with such seriousness that I knew better than to argue

It sounded a bit extreme though. But I decided to let it slide for now. We could negotiate later. Right now, I just wanted to know what was happening.

Aston strode into his closet and pushed aside the clothes, revealing a hidden panel. He pressed a button, and the wall slid open, revealing a secret room filled with weapons. I shouldn’t have been surprised, but I was. Of course Aston had a secret arsenal.

He began loading guns and bombs into a bag. “You’re going to need some ammunition too.” He said it matter-of-factly, like we were going on a hunting trip.

I watched, still trying to process what was happening. “Aston, what’s going on? Who was that person? Why did you shoot them?” I asked again, hoping he would finally answer me.

He finally stopped pacing and looked at me, his eyes intense. “We’ll talk later. Right now, we need to get out of here.” He slung the bag over his shoulder and grabbed my arm, pulling me towards the door.

I nodded, still feeling confused and scared. But I knew I had to trust Aston.

Unsure of what was happening, I clung to Aston’s hand as he led me out of the room. He had a tight grip on me, like I was a lifeline.

Aston glanced around cautiously, his eyes scanning every corner. I followed his gaze, but saw nothing out of the ordinary. Aston did though.

Without hesitation, Aston raised his gun and fired. I jumped at the sound, but he just kept moving, his expression grim. We walked down the corridor, Aston shooting people I hadn’t even seen. It was like he had a sixth sense, knowing exactly where the danger was and I was just useless cargo.

I was shocked, realizing I had forgotten how skilled and ruthless Aston was. Staying in the palace had made me see him a lot differently.

“Aston, who are these people?” I asked, trying to keep up with him.

“Enemies,” he replied curtly, not looking at me.

I nodded, still trying to process what was happening. We turned a corner, and Aston stopped, looking around cautiously.

“We need to get out of here,” he said, his voice low and urgent. “Now.”

I nodded, and Aston pulled me towards a door. We burst through it, finding ourselves in a dimly lit alleyway. Aston didn’t hesitate, pulling me along as we ran through the streets.

I was breathless but Aston just kept going, his grip on my hand not loosening one bit.

Finally, we stopped at a small car and a guard tossed him the key Aston opened the door and pushed me inside. He got in behind me, starting the engine and speeding away from the palace

As we drove. I looked back, seeing the palace fade into the distance. I was safe, I realized. As long as I was with Aston, I was safe.

I was safe, but my mind was racing with questions. Aston’s silence was infuriating. I had been in the dark for too long, and I needed answers. I felt like I was living in a nightmare, with no control over what was happening.

“Okay, you have to tell me what’s going on,” I demanded trying to keep my voice firm. “And where the bell are we going?” I looked at him, trying to read his expression, but it was like trying to read a book with no words.

Aston’s response was short, like he was trying to shut me down. You’re going somewhere safe, and I’m going to kill a b***rd.” His voice was low and menacing, sending a shiver down my spine.

I felt a surge of frustration. That didn’t answer my question at all “What do you mean somewhere safe?” I pressed on trying to get some clarity. “Is it a house? A hotel? A bunker?” I was desperate for any information.

But Aston just grunted, his expression unyielding. I knew that look. He was done answering my questions. It was like trying to get blood from a stone.

I was even more worked up now than I was before I spoke with him. Who was this b*** be wanted to kill And what did it have to do with me?

Aston, please,” I tried again, softening my tone. I was begging him to tell me something, anything I need to know what’s going on. I woke up to gunshots, almost died a bunch of times, and now we’re driving to who-knows-where. I deserve some answers.” I felt like I was going crazy, trapped in this car.

After several potholes, two naps, 5675 attempts to get Aston to talk to me. 123 attempts to jump out of the car window, 60 minutes of Aston trying to shoot random strangers that cut in his lane, and ten minutes of realizing how hot Aston was when he was mad, we finally arrived at a place that made my jaw drop and cleared my confusion I couldn’t believe my eyes. “What the ****k are we doing here?” I screamed, my voice echoing through the car. I was furious, scared, and confused all at

once.

I turned to him, my anger and confusion boiling over. Aston, what is going on? Why are we here? You can’t just drag me around like this without telling me what’s going on! I thought we were going somewhere safe, not back to the one place I was glad I escaped!”

“Can’t you just shut the f***k up and trust me? In case, I haven’t been clear enough, you’re the most important person in my life right now!” I wonder what position I ****d before Mara left with his brother. This son of a bisch

I pulled my hand away. “Trust you? How can I trust you when you won’t even tell me what’s going on? You’re just dragging me around like a puppet on a string. I won’t do it, Aston. I won’t just follow you blindly?”

Aston’s face hardened again, and he looked away. Just get out of the car, Kira. We can talk about this outside

Aston followed me, his eyes scanning the area. “Stay close to me, he growled, his hand on any arma
