CEO’s Unloved Wife

Chapter 19

Wondering who called me earlier? Well, it was my girlfriend, Amy. Yeah, you heard that right. Though I’m a bad boy, but I can still fall in love, right? I know you may be thinking that how can I say I love her and still have an affair with other ladies, well, screw that! You can think whatever you wanna think, not that I care though. I love her and the most important thing is that I respect her, by not letting her know the shitty stuffs I do behind her back, that would’ve been the height of it all.

I and the beautiful young lady have been together for a couple of years now. Yes, you heard that right. We started dating right from high school, our love bloom until we graduated from high school, we managed to gain admission into the same college and yes, it was really fun. Those memories are what I will never let go of. The feeling of getting to school with your partner and get to spend time together, that’s fun, right?

Amy is the daughter of multi billionaire, the CEO of Travis empire. After our college, she traveled abroad to take care of one of her dad’s companies over there, and since five or seven years now, we haven’t seen in person, but only talk on phone. At first she didn’t want to leave, not because of anything else, but me. Knowing that I was the reason why she had refused to travel, her dad had to plead with me to talk her into it, and yes, it worked out, not after promising her that I was going to wait for her until she returns. Yes, you heard that right. Her dad is aware of us dating. Guess what! She just called me earlier that she’ll be back in two months time and even if it’s still a bit long, I’m extremely happy. At least, I’m going to see her soon after so many years.

“Be fast about this, Dylan. I’m famished,” Kingsley groaned hungrily, yawning as he came inside the kitchen. Did I forget to tell you this? Well, I’m in the kitchen, making dinner and here my shameless cousin is, telling me to be fast about it. The heck! Am I his chef or what? He’s so damn annoying and I can’t stand him.

“Don’t pressure me, man. If you’re so hungry, you can as well come here and get this done. I can’t kill myself because of you, please,” I rolled my eyes and he scoffed. Heaven knows that I wouldn’t have go through the stress of cooking, if not for dad. I would’ve leave him to starve to death.

“Whatever!” He rolled his eyes and dragged his feet out of the kitchen, leaving me to take care of the cooking.

After I was done cooking, I proceeded to dad’s room, and there I met him leaning against the wall while sitting on the bed, looking sick. Even if he has recovered a bit, he still looked very sick and pale. I can’t wait for him to be fine again, I miss my strong and healthy dad.

“Dad,” I called softly, dropping the tray that contains some fruit and his meal, on the bedside table before sitting beside him on the bed.

“Son…, how’re you doing?” He groaned softly and I nodded with a slight smile displaying on my face. It hurts to see him pale and sick like this, I wish I can do something about his health, but this is beyond me. I have hired the best doctor in the world, and yet I don’t have an assurance that he’ll be perfectly fine with time.

“I’m fine, dad. How’re you feeling today?” I asked, adjusting the duvet that was covering his body.

“I’m feeling better, son,” He replied me and I nodded.

“I brought you dinner,” I said and he nodded. After chatting with him for a couple of minutes, I finally fed him gently and carefully, making sure to take my time in order not to choke him. After what seemed like forever, I finally finished feeding him.

“So tell me, how are you coping with the company?” He asked after I was done feeding him. Not that I’m surprised, I know he was going to ask that. Dad is always concerned about my business, and he had always been doing his best to see to the progress of it, even before he fell ill.

“The company is doing quite fine,” I replied him.

“I must’ve caused you a lot of trouble, I’m sorry about that, son,” He said sadly and I shook my head. I have done nothing for him, he have always been by my side, after the death of mom, and he was always been there to take care of me like a woman does to her child. There’s absolutely nothing I can ever do to make up for it.

“You’re not causing me trouble, dad. It’s my responsibility to take care of you,” I said and he smiled at me.

“How are you coping with Kingsley? I know he can be annoying, but his presence here is going to help you,” He said and I forced a smile. I wish I can tell him to send the annoying jerk back to where he came from, but there’s no way I can ask that. Kingsley is my biggest challenge now, and I think he’s going to send me to my early grave sooner than I have predicted it.

After chatting with him for a couple of minutes, I finally decided to go to my room and sleep so I can wake up early for work. Well, all thanks to Kingsley, I had to leave some of my works unfinished in the office, and all thanks to that bitch that ruined my day and dress at the restaurant. I had to call my secretary on the phone and told her that I was not going to come back to the office.

I went to return the plates to the kitchen, and I guess Kingsley must’ve gone to sleep in his room, since he wasn’t in the living room. I’m so happy, at least I’ll have some time to rest before morning and not someone keeping me awake all through the night. As bad as it, I don’t usually get a good sleep whenever Kingsley is around, more reason I don’t like him around. He always makes sure that he disturb my sleep and keep me awake for no reason, I guess he’s destined to be one of my problems.Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.

I went to my room and pushed the door open but was shocked to meet the light turned off. I remember that I left it on before I went to the kitchen, so how come it was switched off, is what I have no idea of. Just then, realization dawn on me, I had forgotten that I have a bag of frustration at home now, so it must be him. I switched on the light, but cringed at the sight I beheld…
